She has definitely undergone a skin melanin removal laser treatment to look fair. I'm a med student and after doing so many internships with several plastic surgeons I can say it's very clear she has undergone this treatment. The laser removes melanin from an individual's skin and is followed by at home hydroquinone treatment, where the patient uses a 4% or higher hydroquinone cream or gel to lighten skin. It's very effective and usually doctors in the US prescribe hydroquinone ONLY to patients that have severe skin discoloration and the reason for this is that hydroquinone is linked to skin cancer, infertility etc. Therefore, the reason for Kajol going through this treatment at this age now is that she didn't want to put up with infertility after using hydroquinone. She probably wanted to finish having kids and then she could use anything n lighten her skin without worrying about how it might affect her reproductivity. So that was smart on her part I would say.
But I do believe that this step is wrong for the youth in India. Hydroquinone is a component that is used in so many skin creams in India that claim to give u a fair complexion. Read up on the side effects of this ingredient and the list goes on and on. Kajol has a daughter who is dark skinned herself. She should be an example for all the Indian girls n prove to them that dark skinned girls can be beautiful too! However, it's sad that poor teenage girls unknowingly risk skin cancer and other diseases to be fair by looking up to celebrities like Kajol. I don't understand it at all.

Kajol is going through some kind of crisis. Its like her andar ka sher has jaag utha.😆 All these years, she barely cared about her appearance. But since the last year or so, she's gotten a stylist and what not. Daal mein kuch kaala hain.

People are so gullible and nave that they'll believe anything. 😵Seriously, do you expect someone who doesn't even trim her unibrow to undergo "melanin surgery" (whatever in god's name that is). 🤔

do the writers of these articles even know what surgery is. surgery is when your body is cut open to treat something. are they seriously suggesting she is somehow getting skin surgery to look lighter. ridiculous. make up and lighting are the magic tricks.
👏.i don't care if some normal people do...but here kajol as a celebrity should set a good example to youth who follows her..
Hi,I am a chemist and 5% of hydroquinone in skin creams is fairly common practice. The very common BB creams have them and they also lead to thinning of skin and that is not good in long run. We have melanin in our skin for a reason, it protects us from harmful UV rays which cause skin cancer. Skin cancer should not be taken lightly and in our vanity we shouldn't forget that we live in India , where the sun is harsh and that's the reason we have that amount of melanin.(although I don't live there but I am of indian origin). Skin colour should not be a criteria for judging beauty. always slap on sunscreen. Don't ever forget SLIP, SLAP, SLOP !!!!
