Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan had cricketer Virat Kohli in the dock at a gala to celebrate the opening of the IPL 7 in Abu Dhabi. The swashbuckling host held Virat's swayamvar and also had him pick his bride. No surprises over who Virat picked.
Shahrukh asked Virat Kohli on the stage and quizzed him over the girl of his dreams. Meanwhile, posters of different girls were brought on stage.
"What kind of girl you like, Virat? We'll put her in Swayamvar, you will choose the girl and then get married," SRK told Virat.
Virat replied, "she should have lush tresses (ghaney baal)...she should have big eyes...she should have a well-toned body...she should be mature"
It was clear that Virat was slowly zeroing down on actress Anushka Sharma. Host SRK let out what was in Virat's mind. Anushka perfectly fitted the bill as Virat's dream bride. Even when Virat was told to choose a random poster, it turned out to be that of Anushka.
Then in an act of Swayamvar, Virat Kohli married the photo of Anushka Sharma.
SRK later tweeted, "Big thanks to Shane, Virat & Dhoni for being so sporting on stage. Great sportsman & even greater sporting spirit. Thanks Abu Dhabi & IPL."
Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma started dating after shooting for a commercial last year. Since then Virat has been spotted many a time at Anushka's residence and rumour even had it that he's as good as moved in with her.
