There is something Abhi said to which I agree whole heartedly. The entire actors giving more importance to packaging than acting. not that he is a great actor or anything, but when i read the TOI interviews of actors, be it tv or movie, biggest chunk of their preparation is the look. How they looked, how they toned up or down , grew beard, shaved head, and very little is said about how they tried to enter the mind of the character, understand him.

Most of the people here are more riled up about him saying something against "Ranveer" than about him saying anything..Ranveer and Abhishek aren't even in the same league..Ranveer is one of the best actors in the younger lot and Abhishek is doing side roles in multi starrers..so I don't see why he'd be insecure considering they aren't exactly "competition"

ETA: I can see your line of thinking..Abhishek might be really insecure because of his numerous flops and all that jazz..and clearly the blind item said he took up alcohol because of his insecurities..I just did not see them in this particular episode..maybe because I was hoping for all daggers drawn and was disappointed by what I got😆

I was just generally agreeing to this part of his comment. Because off late, there is excessive focus on how an actor looks, what preparation they take , how the get their looks right.

That does not mean I appreciate his utter neglect for his looks. Its a profession to look good, no matter how gritty your role is, u need to look the part. Even the traditionally not so good looking people also groom themselves up and clean their acts up. Even an Irrfan works out, or a naseer had a fit body in his hay days and does even now.
