We all know that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was supposed to do this Madhur Bhandarkar film. When Aishwarya announced her pregnancy, she was dropped from the film and Kareena was roped in to play the lead role.

The film which raked in Rs 241.45 crores for its makers, had a huge star cast comprising of Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Lara Dutta, Boman Irani and Kunal Kapoor. Intrestingly, Kunal's role was earlier offered to Arjun Rampal, but due to unavailability of dates, Rampal could not do the film.

Kal Ho Na Ho

Karan Johar's first choice for Naina's role was good friend Kareena Kapoor and not Preity Zinta who eventually did the film. Kareena apparently asked for an exorbitant price to do the film and Karan had to offer it to Preity the role. In fact, relation between the actress and KJo soured after this incident. But the duo patched up later and have worked together as well.

Munnabhai MBBS

Vidhu Vinod Chopra once said that Shah Rukh Khan is always his first choice for all his films. Munnabhai was also offered to SRK and the actor had even agreed to do the film. But the actor suffered a major back injury and had to rush to US for treatment at the time when the shooting of the film was about to begin. King Khan opted out and Sanjay Dutt was roped in and the rest, as they say, is history.

Kaho Naa Pyar Hai

Kareena Kapoor was to make her debut along with Hrithik Roshan in Rakesh Roshan's Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai'. The lady had even started shooting for the film but walked out after shooting couple of scenes. Reason: Bebo felt that the film was more of Hrithik's launch pad and she would get sidelined. She eventually made her debut in JP Dutta's Refugee' opposite Abhishek Bachchan while Sonia's character in Kaho Na..' was portrayed by Ameesha Patel.

Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam

Kareena Kapoor recently claimed that she was first choice of Sanjay Leela Bhansali for Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam' and not Aishwarya Rai. Aishwarya Rai's career took a turn for the better post this film.

as far as i know kajol was the first choice for hddcs but she refused since she didn't like the role.i think aishwarya suits the role perfectly.not to mention she lokks like a dream in the first half of the film.

SRK and Kareena's script sense is laajawab👏 Especially Bebo..How does she get it wrong every single time?😆

Dirty Picture's replacement of Kangana to Vidya was just PUURRFECT (Madhuri Style 😉). This role was made for Vidya, and Vidya was just stunning as sexy 'Silk' 👏

But the best replacement is of Munna Bhai from Clown SRK to dashing Sanju Baba. Sanju Baba was born to play the MUNNA BHAI and ''NO ONE'' else 😃 One of Sanju's best movie/performance. 👍🏼

LOL at Bebo 😛 Most of Bebo's rejected movies became superhit. Poor Bebo 😆

I can't imagine Kangana ( who I LOVE) in DP so that would be the BEST replacement for me!! 👏

Close second- HDDCS! Can't imagine Kareena! She would've looked TOO young anyway! Ash defined that role! 😃

Thank God Kareena didn't do KHNH, She could have overacted just like MPKDH..wouldn't have suited...Preity did a Fantastic job, she emoted it really well.

And same for HDDCS...Aishwarya was made for the role

Am sure this is an unpopular opinion but more than Ash's performance (which was good but nothing extraordinary IMO) , it was her chemistry with Salman which defined HDDCS..I have watched aankhon ki gustaakhiyan a million times😆 That really was chemistry at its best😆 I don think Kareena was offered the part though..Kajol was the first choice from what i heard and though am sure she'd have played the part well, am glad it eventually went to Ash cos she danced like a dream and yeah, the chemistry was top notch😆
