We all know that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was supposed to do this Madhur Bhandarkar film. When Aishwarya announced her pregnancy, she was dropped from the film and Kareena was roped in to play the lead role.

The film which raked in Rs 241.45 crores for its makers, had a huge star cast comprising of Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Lara Dutta, Boman Irani and Kunal Kapoor. Intrestingly, Kunal's role was earlier offered to Arjun Rampal, but due to unavailability of dates, Rampal could not do the film.
Kal Ho Na Ho
Karan Johar's first choice for Naina's role was good friend Kareena Kapoor and not Preity Zinta who eventually did the film. Kareena apparently asked for an exorbitant price to do the film and Karan had to offer it to Preity the role. In fact, relation between the actress and KJo soured after this incident. But the duo patched up later and have worked together as well.
Munnabhai MBBS
Vidhu Vinod Chopra once said that Shah Rukh Khan is always his first choice for all his films. Munnabhai was also offered to SRK and the actor had even agreed to do the film. But the actor suffered a major back injury and had to rush to US for treatment at the time when the shooting of the film was about to begin. King Khan opted out and Sanjay Dutt was roped in and the rest, as they say, is history.
Kaho Naa Pyar Hai
Kareena Kapoor was to make her debut along with Hrithik Roshan in Rakesh Roshan's Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai'. The lady had even started shooting for the film but walked out after shooting couple of scenes. Reason: Bebo felt that the film was more of Hrithik's launch pad and she would get sidelined. She eventually made her debut in JP Dutta's Refugee' opposite Abhishek Bachchan while Sonia's character in Kaho Na..' was portrayed by Ameesha Patel.
Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam
Kareena Kapoor recently claimed that she was first choice of Sanjay Leela Bhansali for Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam' and not Aishwarya Rai. Aishwarya Rai's career took a turn for the better post this film.
