It usually really bugs me that only domestic collections count for hit/flop status. But now it allows me to say who needs foreign as long as they are raking in India collections!

Eros International Media Limited (Eros International), a leading global company in the Indian film entertainment industry, has announced an impressive opening weekend of Shahid Kapoor & Sonakshi Sinha starrer R...RAJKUMAR at the box-office with Rs. 45.77 crores worldwide. Produced by Eros International and Next Gen Films, the mass entertainer starring Shahid Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha with its hit music and Prabhu Dheva style action, romance and signature dialogues hit the right chord with audiences and found its place in the top ten opening weekends among Hindi films this year. Monday remained steady at the box-office with the masalathon raking in an attractive Rs. 5.65 crore in India.

In its opening weekend, the film grossed Rs. 39.77 crore in India (Net collections: Rs. 30.59 crore) and Rs. 6 crores overseas. It released across 2900 screens in India and 300 screens overseas.

Why the unfairness with R...Rajkumar

Since 1980s to present, the masala entertainers are a fun filled ride and not an IQ assessment. It was with Wanted that Prabhu Dheva activated masalathons and soon after Bollywood saw a flood of such films especially this year...Almost every leading actor tried to color their hands such as SRK in Chennai Express, Ranbir Kapoor in Besharam, Ajay Devgn inHimmatwala, Akshay Kumar in Boss, Sanjay Dutt in Zila Ghaziabad & Policegiri, Sunny Deol in Singh Saab The Great, Saif Ali Khan in Bullett Raja, Shahid Kapoor in Phata Poster Nikla Hero and recently in R...Rajkumar...

And strangely this recent release is being termed as the worst film of 2013. Really! Well there were many films both of this genre and other that can bag the title of the worst film'. Not going very far in time, just compare the release previous to R...Rajkumar, Bullett Raja stands levels down when compared to R...Rajkumar both by public choice and box office collections (if that is the criteria to rate a film).

It's the critics that have rated Bullett Raja between 3-4 stars and no popular critic is seen praising R...Rajkumar...

What is it actually? What is the formula to receive good reviews? Is it big banners/star power? Or is the matter monetary?

Whatever it is, the audience out there knows the reality and hardly go by what critics and reviews says...That is the reason the movie is liked by us and everyone out there.

And next time while reading a review, all you guys make sure that masalthons are mindless as in they are for entertainment and require no justification of the acts involved to entertain. Mindless doesn't imply that the movie is bad.

R...Rajkumar was kicked out by many front line critics, picked up by the audiences. Moral is, one should not judge movies on few people.
