But he is a good actor.

What?

His role Bittu was quite good in BBB, much better than Anuskha I believe. Anuskha has been playing this loud Punjabi girl role throughout her whole career😆

No i dont think so, in lootera sonakshi was good but it was his character and acting that impressed and stayed in my memory for long same with BBB he was freaking awesome there !
And ram leela, all my friends who were not so fond of him did loved him and praised his acting, he did overshadow others in few scenes like his interaction with supriya pathak that is a big thing in itself !! The way he can blend ino so many emotions in a single shot is a big commendable thing :-)

All he needs to do is some good films with great scripts, believe me ranbir wont stand long infront of him ! 😛

Everyone, even me goes Deepika this in RL, Deepika that
Havent heard anything about Ranveer's contribution invthe film

See DP has got tremendous success this year & critical acclaim too & in BW(world too) nothing succeeds like success. In RL & Lootera, the role for heroines are not usual flower pot ones & hard to come by in BW.The girls had tremendous scope for showing their acting prowess which is so rare! Maybe that's why.In case of RL,DP is more successful star attraction too compared to RS.But Ranveer Singh is a good actor, Infact a lot more versatile than many others...&
I consider him to be a bettor actor( even dancer) compared to Ranbir but that is my opinion only. Hope RL gives him the success which he surely deserves.

MH,

Its a matter of perspective then...for me, Ranveer was the show-stealer of Ram Leela...Deepika was absolutely fabulous, but Ranveer was a notch better than her. It might have to do with the character...I think Ram had more shades to him than Leela (who was slightly unidimensional) and Ranveer brought out all the differing aspects of Ram very beautifully...almost, if I might say, flawlessly.
I think the reason why Deepika is being talked about more is only because this is fourth hit this year...that's a huge deal and in every film, she has played a stellar part, not just a flower pot role.
But in every review that I have read, Ranveer was praised as much as Deepika if not more.
@Dexy, agree with everything you said!

Thanks Poppy! 😃 Now that I have read your views on the characters, I am even more excited to see it. I love multifaceted characters, so that sounds intriguing. Can't believe my plans keep getting cancelled. 😡But I will definitely be watching it soon. Hopefully by the end of this coming week. 😡

I would go to the extent of saying that this is the first SLB film in which the male lead has a more author backed role as compared to the female lead.
Deepika's character is well-written and her performance is mind-blowing, but Ranveer is quite something else in the film. Its one of the most uninhibited performance I have seen come out of Bollywood in quite a while...it takes a special kind of talent and a special kind of self-confidence to play a role as raunchy, as silly, as heroic yet fallible as Ram's...and Ranveer is so good, that he manages to do all that effortlessly.
@Dexy, Do watch the film and decide for yourself whether you found Ranveer to be the best thing about RL or not!😊

i dont know why people think ranveer does not get credit always overshadowed. i think its due to the fact IF having good number of haters for this guy but in real world he was and is appreciated. i dont know if i am slow or wat but i always thought ranveer benefitted and was appreciated for BBB and lootera both. for BBB more than anu.

Could not agree more!
IF is not the general audience...in fact, IF is actually a very niche sort of audience, comprising of a majority of members who are based out of India also.
From what I am hearing, in India, its Ranveer who is getting all the seeti's and the taali's for his role...and if I remember correctly, Ranveer was praised as much as Sonakshi for Lootera...this despite the fact that Sonakshi had a much more powerful role in the film.
With Ram Leela, Ranveer has arrived in a big way! Whatever the commercial fate of the film, this guy is here to stay.
