Though we both went for Deepika! My Mom asked me three times during film, who is this guy, who is this guy, is this his first film?
He is picking up slowly, he has the charisma, I loved him in movie!

He was never overshadowed by his heroine. He was just as good as Anuska in BBB. In RL the reviews praised him just as much as they praised Deepika. Actually Anupama said she liked Ranveer better in the film.
I think the only films he was overshadowed by an actress is in Lootera..and I think that had a lot to do with Sonaski not playing a flowerpot role for the first time. But even then..the critics praised his performance just as much as Sonaski.

By the way, I was thinking about this for a while..I think today the contemporary actresses are much more popular than their male counterparts. I don't think Ranbir,Ranveer and Shahid together can get as much media attention as much Deepika,Katrina and Sonakshi will get. I think the male stars these days are turning pale in comparison to the female stars we have in Bollywood these days.

I agree

Even Ranbir with all his success hardly matches attention Katrina and nowadays even Deepika gets

See DP has got tremendous success this year & critical acclaim too & in BW(world too) nothing succeeds like success. In RL & Lootera, the role for heroines are not usual flower pot ones & hard to come by in BW.The girls had tremendous scope for showing their acting prowess which is so rare! Maybe that's why.In case of RL,DP is more successful star attraction too compared to RS.But Ranveer Singh is a good actor, Infact a lot more versatile than many others...&
I consider him to be a bettor actor( even dancer) compared to Ranbir but that is my opinion only. Hope RL gives him the success which he surely deserves.

See now you are talking and I will agree to your opinions 😛

MH,

Its a matter of perspective then...for me, Ranveer was the show-stealer of Ram Leela...Deepika was absolutely fabulous, but Ranveer was a notch better than her. It might have to do with the character...I think Ram had more shades to him than Leela (who was slightly unidimensional) and Ranveer brought out all the differing aspects of Ram very beautifully...almost, if I might say, flawlessly.
I think the reason why Deepika is being talked about more is only because this is fourth hit this year...that's a huge deal and in every film, she has played a stellar part, not just a flower pot role.
But in every review that I have read, Ranveer was praised as much as Deepika if not more.

I appreciate the fact that this post was of medium length 👏

The characters were so damn confused in their shades if you ask me it was irritating

i dont know why people think ranveer does not get credit always overshadowed. i think its due to the fact IF having good number of haters for this guy but in real world he was and is appreciated. i dont know if i am slow or wat but i always thought ranveer benefitted and was appreciated for BBB and lootera both. for BBB more than anu.

Like seriously 😕

I have seen more ranveer pankhas then Kat haters on IF and thats saying something

Thak Gaya

Baaki Baad mein

Itni mehnat to MOTW bhi nhi karte 😛

And this thread is not just a RL thread

Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone in Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela

>

Goliyon Ki Rasleela: Ram-Leela had a troubled opening at the box office, following many pre-release hurdles.

The film released a day late in some cities of Gujarat and Saurashtra on Friday, thereby losing out on collections.

It did fair business over the weekend but did not meet with audience appreciation. Collections dropped badly on Monday.

Trade analyst Vinod Mirani gives the box office verdict for the week.

Cast: Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Supriya Pathak, Richa Chadda

Director: Sanjay Leela Bhansali

What works: Deepika Padukone, visually brilliant.

What doesn't: Too many songs, second half drags.

Number of weeks: New

BO verdict: Average opening.
