I think that's another reason this is trouble for Kareena. A lot of regressive folks saw it as a "betrayal" when she went ahead and married Saif, launching on FB the "Love Jihaad" movement, etc.

funny how people speaking about a particular thing are mostly those who themselves are not following it fully!

like they say- you do anything right or wrong- people are always going to talk- and mostly shit! not only for celebs but generally even!

so I am glad she doesn't care what every one has to say! you cant please every one and there is no need to do even!

Not to mention, do some of these folks realize that Kareena's only half influenced by Hinduism. She's more strongly influenced by Christianity coz she grew up with her mum, who practices Christian rituals.
Now she celebrates some Islamic festivals alongside the Hindu and Christian ones, but obviously, the ones that she wants to, lol.

okay so she is not a religious person unlike say aishwarya who strictly follows all the customs etc- big deal!

I have no issues with bebo on personal front- every one has a right to follow what he/she believes in and more respect to her as she does not fake her believes!

how ever I do feel being a huge star- she should weigh her words a little as unintentionally it can hurt some sentiments!

People need to get their facts right. Karvachauth is not 'religious' in any way. Its a 'punjabi' tradition done by both hindu and sikh women but I would think not more than half of them. Its upto the woman if she wants to do it or not. Its caught on in the rest of India but its not religious in any way.

clearly people are missing the point. the practice is perhaps regressive/oppresive/sexist. yes, this karva chaut can be a very debatable subject. those who celebrate, let them, lets not disrespect them, however i find it kind a wierd too, why a woman has to fast for her man's lambi umar but the man don't have to do this.

i even watched one old hindi movie where the wife had to wash her husbands feet and drink that water. and guess what, later that husband kicked with those feet; on the karva chaut he made an entry only after having a good time with a hooker.

very very cunning world.
