Yes. You may ignore everything as media made but your cant ignore facts and figures. All that money doesnt come out of people's pockets just like that. But yes its too early to say he is at the top. He needs to prove himself in 2-3 films more to be safely called the number one.

Ranbir is my fav from the Kapoors and he is a star for sure. But I hate it when he's been compared to the Khans. He has his own space while the Khans have theirs. Ranbir is clearly a very good actor and I don't want to imagine anybody else playing Barfi than him

As for this Aditya Roy, I haven't watched his movies yet so can't comment on him

OMG this is such a pessimistic view about BW. Bolly have been there in hale n hearty form even BEFORE the Khans had arrived and will remain so even after their exit. Success parameters change with time, like in 60's having a golden jubilee run was categorized as success and now 'a week old collection' is all needed to term the movie as 100 cr success. This will change for good in future too.

For me bolly made Khans and not vice versa.

Amitabh is still irreplaceable and so will the Khans be, but success comes with an expiry date. It happened to many superstars earlier and will happen to Khans too. They replaced someone and now they will be replaced too but BW will always thrive.

I dont know why IF members hate him so much! He is a kid to look out for... Hrthik had a totally dimensions in his career when he was at this stage and there are several reasons which accounted to Hrthik's slow fall but I dont think that will be applicable in Ranbir's case! He is choosing filsm wisely and also doing 2 films per year! He will not go anywhere

Wow Im really disappointed with Ranbir's fans explanation.

The topic asks, is Ranbir "really a star", and you guys are posting box-office, figures, talking about 100 crores movies, and what not. That doesn't answer the question.

Even Ajay Devgan has 100 crore movies, but he is in NO WAY A big start. Wasn't Bol Bachahan 100 crore movie too? So that means Abhishek is a big star too?

100-crore movies are nice but they don't mean anything. We are talking about fan-following. I don't think Ranbir has the kind of legendary fan following that the three khans have.
