I dont think I m right to say it, but whenever I have seen a film in a multiplex... People dont hoot at all! Be it chikni chameli or fevicol - I have never seen people even stand and dance forget hooting!

So maybe Mulitiplex audience restrict to act like this!
Other Point may be Respect! Not for Madhuri but for girls in general, which is a good thing!

check the public reactions...this generation clearly calls her 'OLD' and the thanda reaction gives it all. even those who call her fans have half heartedly appreciated. Heck why they are even calling madhuri an item girl

But in my books, I respect Katrina more. At least she didn't use sexuality and vulgarity to reach the heights of fame. Even before Sheila and Chikni, she was still pretty popular. Obviously some level of sexiness is needed, I have never found Katrina to be vulgar. Or even Kareena for that matter. They have had several double meaning lyrics in their songs, but I never cringed.
Yes Katrina had Chikni Chameli, and that first Boom movie. But she is a saint compared to what Madhuri used to do!.
Go watch Madhuri's old dance numbers, if you don't cringe you're either perverted or a blind fan.
I dunno why she is known for her dancing. Just because she smiles? She's good, but she is not legendary as they make her out to be. I find Aishwarya Rai to be a way better dancer.

I would find it appalling even if I wasn't a Madhuri fan. This hasn't got anything to do with me or anyone else being a fan. The comparison is funny and appalling at the same time. Katrina was popular before Chikni and Sheila? Really? and are you seriously telling me Katrina wasn't vulgar? During Ishq Dance I thought her boobs would fall out of the screen and into the waiting laps of the front seaters. I wonder whose the perverted and blind fan here.

As far as Madhuri's songs are concerned, yes they were double meaning, yes the choreography was vulgar, yes the picturization was cheap. But what made it work? The fact that Madhuri made it all look sensuous and sexy rather than vulgar and cheap. Now this is only my opinion and no one is asking you to agree with me. There is exactly the same amount of difference between Madhuri and Katrina as there is between a robot and a human being. Rajnikanth's dance in Robot is more appealing than Katrina's perfomrnace on Sheila. You know why? Because there is a thing called emotion which Katrina lacks.

As far as your opinion on dancing is concerned, it's none of my business. Heck I think Govinda is a better dancer than Hrithik Roshan. Who dances better wasn't even the point. The discussion started out on the grounds of acting prowess and that's what I find ridiculous. End of story.

LOL Neets, I thought I was the only who felt that during Ishq Dance/Shava whereas everyone else was fawning over it...and I was just like: 😕 ...😆

But anyways Kat has ZERO grace as a dancer...thats why all her vulgar dance numbers actually look hella vulgar, whereas Madhuri has immense grace...her "suggestive and vulgar" numbers all ended up look sensuous and sexy instead because of the same reason.

^Seriously Himani, I think it was well choreographed but all Katrina really had to do was do those massives chest thrusts she's so good at. I would like to see her attempting a song that does not have her chest popping at every half second. It gets very annoying after a point.

Grace has a major role to play in defining someone as a dancer. Madhuri is naturally a very graceful dancer. Her moves look effortless. Whereas with Katrina it shows that she's put in oodles of effort and mehnat into making it look good. But I guess different strokes for different folks.

No please don't tell Katrina to stop her chest heaving. Sometimes Katrina's gyrations and cleavage is the only thing worth watching in a movie. The only way I lasted through TMK is because Sheila Ki Jawani left me all charged up.

Truth be told, I am not sure if she actually can do something other than chest popping when it comes to dancing though 😆 Actually she's quite good at them, but she needs to tone them down a little bit...it's too much or IMHO it is...I just wanna tell her to calm down..I get that she can shake it very well, but there's a softer way of doing it too. 😆

Oh Madhuri is beyond graceful, effortless..she's just made to dance I think. Its like dance uske rooh rooh mein baasa hai. Katrina is far off. Yeah I guess it really is to each their own.

I'm sure most people went to watch JTHJ to watch Katrina showing off her legs and cleavage in Ishq shava too. I have to admit her songs are one of the major USPs in dabba films 😆 I think her songs are soon going to be shown in 3D purely for the double impact of the excessive heaving and popping 😆

There isn't anything wrong with chest popping. You wouldn't believe it, but chest isolations are a part of the syllabus for beginner's in jazz 😆 But there's a way of doing that too. I mean, you can either make it look classy or cheap. Katrina belongs in the latter category. Her whole point of doing chest popping is "Catch me if you can" 😆

Exactly. Madhuri was born to dance. Simple as that.

A generation starved for love made Saiyaara a megahit

A generation that texts “ily” but struggles to say “I love you” out loud found its anthem in Saiyaara . Soft, aching, and impossibly tender, it...
