Zoya free of charges
While Zoya Akhtar's movie Sheila Ki Jawani in Bombay Talkies has been receiving some good reviews, the only dampener was an accusation of plagiarism surrounding it. Filmmaker Sudipto Chattopadhyay, before the release of the film, had claimed the movie was a copy of his film Pankh that was released in 2010.
Producer Ashi Dua reveals that the issue has now been sorted. Ashi says, " The person who had accused us of plagiarism had not even seen our movie and neither had Zoya seen his work. However, after the movie released he withdrew the accusations. A hundred people can make a movie on the same theme but that does not mean all are copies of each other."
Currently, the producer is preparing to leave all controversies behind and head to the Cannes film festival with her directors Karan Johar, Zoya, Anurag Kashyap and Dibakar Banerjee. "We will all be flying together. The film has received great feedback here and we are all set to show it to the world. Right from getting the top directors and big stars on board, this has been a tough film to make. But I'm glad everything turned out perfectly well."
