Saif was awesome, as was Hardick (dont know his real name) oh and Puja Gupta is stunning. She reminds me of Frieda Pinto.

How's it doing at the box office?

Yet another positive review from an IFer!
That's like...5 positive and one neutral so far!

Hardhik is played by Kunal Khemu. He was in Kalyug (jiya dhadak dhadak), Golmaal 3, and is actually quite famous for his roles as a child actor. He was in Raja Hindustani (the lil guy with Aamir) and also in the film Zakhm in the song Gali Mein Aaj Chand Nikla 😊

Boxoffice wise, its taken on a strictly average note. Not good, not terrible. Just ok.

Kunal khemu definitely stole the show for me, loved his condom scene.

Oh and I loved the part where Saif tells them to go get the boat

"Sea there"

*they all stand and see*

"Samander waha hai!!"
😆

Oh the condom scene was classic, I loved his expression when the vendor lists out the types of condoms as if he's a waiter in one of those restaurants in Mumbai! 😆

Truly, Khemu stole the show as he had the best dialogues! Another one I loved was when one of the firangs laughs at his name Hardik and he's like heh, always!!

I loved when Saif was interrogating Kunal after he thinks he's infected!

"You make sex with zombie" and the entire episode of Kunal reciting the 7X table and then Bunny demanding world capitals while Luv stands there going "I think he's ok" 🤣

Oh that sequence was classic! Esp when Bunny is like lets try capitals; Uganda ka capital kya hai? And Hardik is all like saaley Uganda, tera baap ganda! Luv was the best, he keeps going I think he's fine!! 😆

Okay did anyone else go all sentimental when Nikolai got bitten and he left the gang?

OMG I DID! Especially when Boris got so overprotective that he wouldnt even let Luv mention it. Coz he knew but it still hurt.

Oh Nikolai and Boris

Ah Nikolai and Boris nearly reduced me to tears. I know if I watch it in theatres I will shed a few unsuspecting tears. Oh well.

And the part where Luna kinda sorta consoles the two of them; Nikolai asking for vodka so he can enjoy his last moments as a human drinking his favorite drink... 😔

Go Goa Gone: 1st Monday Box Office Collections

After opening to average collections on its first day, Zom-Com Go Goa Gone revived a little in the weekend. With the start of its first Monday, the film faced an expected drop in its earnings. The amount incurred by the film reduced considered by almost 50% since Friday. The film's Monday collections eventually rested at a nett of 2 crores.

Puja Gupta in Go Goa Gone Movie Stills

The film's domestic total so far amounts to 14.90 crores. The film performed better in metropolitan cities especially in the Delhi circuit while it lagged terribly in Central India which mainly caters to single screen audiences.

The film's income should maintain itself at the same pace through the week in order to reach the 18 crore mark by the coming weekend. The film tagetted at the multiplex audiences is facing stiff competition from the Hollywood feat Star Trek and hence has seen a deterred growth so far.

Amongst those who has watched the film has found it to be a likeable treat with Kunal Khemu and Vir Das, along with Saif Ali Khan as the Russian Mafioso with his fake twang giving them their money's worth of entertainment!

Why did 'Go Goa Gone' fumble?

By Taran Adarsh, May 15, 2013 - 08:26 IST
Most distributors are of the opinion that films targeting the youth, generally, open to good houses. But the low turnout at cineplexes screening GO GOA GONE contradicts this thought. Worse, the business over the weekend or on weekdays never sky-rocketed, despite positive feedback from those who watched it. Isn't it shocking? Right from its title to the novel concept [for the desi audiences], catchy songs and witty one-liners, GO GOA GONE gave an impression that it would open well. At plexes of urban centres mainly. But the hopes came crashing down when the figures started pouring in on Friday morning.

What does one attribute the lukewarm start to? The Adults certification? There are several instances of 'A' certified fares opening well at the ticket window... The alien concept? There are umpteen examples of out of the box themes luring the audience in hordes... Besides, the summer vacations [mid-April to early June] are considered the most conducive period for film business, which means that the release period was also appropriate.

Surprisingly, GO GOA GONE had a tepid start in the international markets as well and you may find this hard to believe, the opening weekend business of GO GOA GONE is lower than that of SHOOTOUT AT WADALA, which is not an Overseas-friendly genre. So where did GO GOA GONE go wrong? Bad luck? Or could there be other reason/s?

The second release, GIPPI, was never expected to set the BO afire and Karan Johar and UTV did the smartest thing by releasing it in limited shows at limited screens [around 300]. Films like GIPPI have their limitations because they are targeted at plexes and select single screens of urban centres specifically, so expecting it to notch double digit numbers on its opening day was ruled out. Of course, the business is steady, albeit on the lower side, but I am sure, the non-theatrical avenues will help its makers reach the safety zone.

However, irrespective of how GIPPI performs eventually, you have to give it to KJo for attempting something beyond the stereotype.
