Sanjay dutt was caught with AK 56, during that crucial time...and was held under terrorist act
Now no one keeps such gun for security I believe.
He must have lost his mind due to drugs and everything...but cant be forgiven.

This is shocking at so many levels...

First...kudos to the Indian justice system for showing that they have a spine...I never thought that a celebrity would be actually convicted...now all those people out there would think twice before committing a crime and think they can get away because of their celebrity status..

second..Sanjay Dutt...in the last few years had come across as a huge ,cuddly teddy bear...although who are we to feel bad for him...ask the families of those who lost their lives...but still he had connected to the people through his movies and especially Big Boss...I don't feel happy either...but justice was served today...

Third...feel sorry for SD's family and his little kids...they didn't sign up for this...I really don't know how I feel now...

Does anyone know...if the jail time that he already did will be deducted from these five years or is this a fresh sentence...and also if he can be out on parole after a while or can his sentence be reduced for good behaviour...Any lawyers on this forum??

Not a lawyer but I read an article where that is what would happen. He only has to go for 3 years and some months so that is a positive I guess

I don't pity the guy, if he committed the crime, he should serve the sentence. The Indian court system maybe be a joke many a times but at least they set a precedent with this.

Now, can we have the same judge & jury deliberate on Salman's case?

Not a lawyer but I've heard that jail time will be deducted so he'll go to jail for 3.5 years now as he has already served 1.5 years term.

GOOD. He is guilty so he must be punished like any other citizen. These celebrities are pathetic with their "Omg he's such a nice guy..." bs. How bout you spare some of that sympathy for the innocent people who were injured and those who lost their lives in the blasts.

I agree, if you are guilty you get should get punished, but sadly this speaks badly on the behalf of Indian justice system.. this sentence has been 20 years in the making.

Salman will get it in 2020 approximately 20 years later when the people he ran over have re-built their lives and justice isnt even a soothing balm.

And finally the rape case will all those assholes jailed in oh-about another 15 or so years when nobody gives a f**k and the parents of the innocent girl have given up.

Other than that, I am happy that FINALLY justice , however late and tardy , its being served.
