Maybe Sushant is really good at multitasking. If people can believe that Rani got her YRF movies because she was sleeping with Adi, SRK's KJo connection got him his Dharma movies, Kat canoodling Salman made her get all her movies, its but natural that some people might think that a similar set-up with someone higher-up is getting Sushant his breaks. It's not as if he looks like Neal Caffrey and acts like Leo deCaprio that any alternate theories will be baseless just by default.

I have followed Sushant's work in Pavitra Rishta and that is why I am not at all surprised that his work today is getting so much praise .

Just skimmed this thread, but I can understand why people are so skeptical about Sushant's career. We don't see newcomers, especially ones with no godfather in Bollywood, get offers with big folks like YRF, PK...and well SLB now...or have such hype pre-release either. Its been too long since we've heard of a successful self-made newbie amongst all the Tom, Dick, and Harry Kapoors, Chopras, Khans, Dhawans and god knows who else 😆 Even Ranveer Singh has rumors about how his dad paid YRF to make BBB. ...so for Sushant to get such offers and no such rumors is perhaps a bit weird, for this nepotist industry.

Yeah Sushant is not the best looking guy from TV, nor is he the best actor from TV either. BUT, like I was discussing in one of the threads a few days back with a friend, you don't need just looks or talent to make it here. You need to realize what roles will work, which won't, etc. Sushant is very INTELLIGENT; he's very CREATIVE and has a sound head on his shoulders. He does have charisma and screen presence. I discovered most of this in JDJ, and truth be told I think it's JDJ that did a world of good for Sushant. Before that, he never made a big impact on me.

I have no idea how true this is but I remember hearing somewhere that Aditya Chopra had planned a dance based film and he decided he wanted Sushant in it after seeing JDJ..maybe after Shahid left or was kicked out, they decided to go for a newcomer and thought about Sushant. If you look to see, YRF's movies nowadays are mostly smaller films with the younger actors with 1-2 "big" films a year. I think since all their films started flopping, they started investing in newer talent more and more...smaller budgets, you see. I personally don't find anything too crazy about the SLB film either. Clearly this is not a big role, and he's not gonna get any bigger star to play the husband and second fiddle to PC. Easiest is to look in the newer brigade. ...but if Sushant is doing this, then Ankita might have to be on sets everyday. 😆

Ekta is powerful and she probably did recommend him for KPC like she recommended Prachi for Rock On, but Sushant is much better than Prachi. Also, guys from TV find it easier to break away from their TV images than the women do. The women are too typecast as the sati savitri bahus. ..and Sushant used to be a background dancer in BW too. Didn't he dance in Bunty Aur Babli and at Filmfare and stuff? Maybe he has contacts from there too?

He was fantastic in the show .

What is great is that Abhishek Kapoor and UTV made this film with new comers .Thank God that talented guys are getting a break instead of just the Star sons and those who have big God fathers .This is a welcome change.

Very happy with KPC's success.

I hope Sanjay Leela Bhansali will make a good and interesting film.

I remember reading somewhere on IF that Farhan Akhtar had been spending time on grooming Sushant. Probably this is all Farhans recommendation n clout that is helping Sushant.

Also i think Sushant's PR is really active in promoting him.

When directors look for newcomers they dont essentially look for one movie or two movie old actors, they look for fresh newcomers mostly. So unless there's a good connection working behind Sushant, i see absolutely no reason forthe hype.

I would be really happy if this guy becomes successful in bolly regardless of any means coz i think he might be talented as well.
