Amour was nominated for Best foreign film and best film. The Artist which won best film last year was French. Pan's Labyrinth was Mexcian. Roberto Benigni won best actor for Life is Beautiful which is an Italian film. Even Javier Bardem was nominated for Buitiful which is Spanish.

Any movie that has global critical acclaim and appreciation tends to get nominated even in the mainstream Oscars, not just foreign category.

And some people ask why bollywoos will never grow up .Just look at the huge respect in the award function and how everyone is happy for the other to see the big defference between hollywood and bollywod
