I admit, I do love it when Indians get Oscars but what I don't like is people running after it.. I mean you don't see Americans doing that for our award shows. I somewhat agree with Sunny Paaji.

I still do not get what Oscars have to do with BW? I mean no BW actor was nominated for an Oscar, because only HW movies get nominated for an Oscar. As simple as that

HW is dominating in certain countries and is the most popular film industry ( UK, USA, Canada, Germany etc), however BW is dominating in countries such as India, Pakistan and in a lot of middle east countries. Secondly BW has also gained major popularity in countries such as Indonesia and Thailand or even China.

BW and HW are totally different industry (well used to be, i guess since BW is trying to be HW no 2), so I do not see why oscars have to be so important to us. In Pakistan or Bangladesh, no one cares about Oscars, however many people care about Filmfare Awards.

Who cares what a bunch of American's think. Why do we so desperately need their approval and recognition. Indians and their inferiority complex. Be China, make them come to you. Screw the Oscars.

That is not true. Yes, majority of nominations are Hollywood. But many foreign films have been nominated and won awards.

Amour was nominated for Best foreign film and best film. The Artist which won best film last year was French. Pan's Labyrinth was Mexcian. Roberto Benigni won best actor for Life is Beautiful which is an Italian film. Even Javier Bardem was nominated for Buitiful which is Spanish.

Any movie that has global critical acclaim and appreciation tends to get nominated even in the mainstream Oscars, not just foreign category.

Her name is Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy a documentary name called "Saving Face" based on a plastic surgen who helps women of acid attacks.

So what is wrong in having global recognition. You would rather remain anonymous for you false pride.

I do not agree on this with Sunny Deol.
