I remember being disgusted when Nandini chose Vanraaj, but then I realized I would have been upset if she chose Sameer too. What I liked in the movie, no one was shown bad in order to make the other look good--as it occurs in a love stories. Everyone did right--Sameer for leaving when he was told to, Vanraj for taking Nandini to Italy and Nandini for choosing Vanraj.

I do think KANK had apotential had it written properly...

KANK would have been a great movie...if the ending was different...Movies should not show people getting rewarded for wrong deeds...SRK and Rani getting together in the end was wrong at so many levels...some of the scenes in the movie were so cringe worthy...
KJo...gave no explanation...why Rani would not love and leave an ideal husband like Abhishek and go to someone as obnoxious as Shahrukh,...there was no plausible explanation of that...on the other hand why Shahrukh fell out of love with Preity was understandable...there were a lot of things like frustration, inferiority complex and insecurity in SRK's character which explained it...but AB and Rani...no explanation whatsoever...KANK was a bad movie...a movie with extra marital affairs as the theme...should be providing explanations at every level...while so many things were unexplained in the movie...one of the few of SRK's movies that I strongly dislike..👎🏼

Sad but what you said is so true. Indian mentality it is. At times in arranged marriage one tends to look at family, business, education...everything carries weight. We are programmed to think like that. Our society and upbringing is such to assume a loveless marriage will work and is for keeps...

One of the best movies made by SLB ever. Salman, Aishwarya and Ajay created magic on the screen.
Aishwarya matched both the guys. But I preferred her with Ajay...:)

I have said it many times No she didnt..coz when you in love true love there no holds bar and people dont get outta love that easily..secondly, she should not have married Ajay knowing she in love with another to begin with. lastly, the ending should have changed and she with sameer ok...and i stick to this view..and SLB could have raised the bar had he taken that risk!!

Yess Yess YESSS! I loveddd the movie only because she chose Vanraj at the end. The movie wouldn't have the same effect and same success if she had chosen Sameer. I loved Ajay Devgan's character and his acting and he should have got an award for it 😊

she chose vanraaj because thats what was written in the novel duh😆

frankly if we go by novel they would nandini and sameer would meet after 30 yrs, when her children are all married and she has grandkids, also a lot of stuff happened in between, sameer tried to contact her in reality which were ommitted by SLB.

I love the movie since it gave some awesome music and shankar M was amazing in his classical self.

Had no idea it was based on a novel. What is the name of the novel? English or Gujarati?

actually a bong novel, na hanyate by maitreyi devi. based on her real life first love. written to refute mirchae eliod's la louis bengali.

the novel is translated in many languages i think.
SLB's best works so far has been mutilating bengali classics anyway😆
