Most Profitable Actor award for Salman, Katrina at an award function

The year 2012 was a bumper year for Bollywood and now it's time for awards. ETC Bollywood Business Awards, hosted by Komal Nahta, is back with its third edition. The event, which evaluates winners on the basis of a film's revenues, not only recognises actors and directors, but also marketers, distributors, production houses and exhibitors. The year gone by, was crucial for the film industry in terms of trade figures with top grossers like Agneepath, Housefull 2, Bol Bachchan, Rowdy Rathore, Barfi, Ek Tha Tiger and Jab Tak Hai Jaan among others.

While Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif bagged the Most Profitable Actor and Actress awards respectively, Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha were given the Highest Grossing Actor and Actress awards.

Says Sonakshi, "It feels good when numbers talk and when numbers are appreciated because there are very few awards that actually give credit to the business side of a film."

Anurag Bedi, Business Head, says, "This initiative is our way of recognising the various people associated with a film, who are as important as the stars on screen. The awards use trade, business and profitability as yardsticks in deciding the success of a movie."

The awards will air tonight on ETC at 7 pm.

And ETT d most profitable movie...so overall ETT dominated dis year
and Dabang 2 will dominate d 1st half of 2013...

D year totally belonged to Salman(once again 😉)...

Yes hes topping everything and here in bollysection we got an award on him being the most upported by us and the most trashed by others 😆😆..anyways he rocks SaL-KaT rocks!!

WINNERS AT ETC AWARD

As we enter the 100th year of Indian cinema with a record 9 films hitting the 100 cr. mark in 2012, 3rd ETC Bollywood Business Awards are back to recognize the most profitable films at the Box-office.
At this year's awards, Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha were recognized as the Highest Grossing Actors of 2012 for their contribution to the success of their respective films.

On receiving the award Sonakshi said ""It feels good when numbers talk and when numbers are appreciated because there are very few awards that actually give credit to the business side of it & ETC is doing a very good job with that."

Katrina Kaif won the most profitable actress this year taking the title from Kareena who was the previous year's winner in this category while Salman Khan retained the title of the Most Profitable Actor. The title of the Highest Grossing Film was taken by Ek Tha Tiger.

• Top Grosser of the Year-Ek Tha Tiger

ETC Bollywood Business Awards are held in high esteem in the industry because of its unique proposition of judging winners basis the commercial success of the films.

Anurag Bedi, Business Head, ETC, said, "Since 2010, ETC Bollywood Business Awards has been a unique awards show honouring not only the popular categories but also the teams which work behind the scenes to market and distribute them to make them a greater success."
