Shes had her fair share of disasters and her acting is cringe worthy. Granted shes improved over time, but still not much to be called a great actress. Her beauty has helped her come a long way. She does experiment and take chances whereas Kareena goes with the flow (shes a follower, not a trend setter...insecure?), but she hasnt had much success at those experiments either. Her last hit was guru? a supporting character? Vidyas role was more significant and challanging. Her role in Sarkar Raaj wasnt that big either, the focus was amitabh, and i reckon Kareena will probably have a role similar to it (length) in her prakash jha movie.
My point is that, What diff does it make if Kareena has a career graph that has more downs than ups vs. Ash who also has more downs vs. ups also but experiments? Both are/were liked by the public, and while one has happily set up her home the other one is getting started and doesnt look like shes leaving anytime either. SHE, kareena, is the main choice for major roles that require acting NOW, not Ash. And to be honest, the industry has changed so much that it doesnt even make sense to compare them. Going by todays standards, you just have to be pretty, you'll learn to act...hopefulky before you hit the 10 year mark. 😆
Who is ash? is she even an actress? is acting even in her genes? Was acting running in her blood? how was her first movie received?
BUT what ash became after hum dil deh chuke sanam? agree or disagree, she became a household name. her dances, her beauty, and c'mon, those crocodile tears worked wonders for her, must say a major plus for this saga, hddcs.
With that she never turned back. Regardless of her movies bombing at boxoffice, most of those movies had ash in central roles. She wasn't just shoved in the movie for the sake of it.
Many of you will say, yeah well, that was one fluke, but what about devdas. how she landed the role? imagine bhansali took kareena in his dark room and failed her after screen testing and opted for ash. and this kahaani doesn't end there, ash goes to win her second best actress award for devdas, and a worthy one, i must say. damn, pitted against - hold it - LEGENDS shah rukh and madhuri, she held high and mighty. MINUS that deva deva annoying chant - running down the stairs in climax, with dropati never ending pallu, (lordy - that did some major damage to my poor ears), she nailed each and every scene, came as a winner. What does this say?
after hddcs and devdas, ash was number one in most of the directors list. whether she is an actress, how good/bad, thats different story. roles were written for her. hell even dhoom 2. aditya chopra signed her and hritik for the first time, showcased them to tilt, and we all know how big of a hit their jodi was. They followed with JA. Guess what, ash almost won her third award, almost. Talk about some slam dunking happening.
now coming to kareena, did the same happened to kareena post jwm success, where producers/directors lined up for bebo with roles written for her.
tell me one movie post jwm, where it was all about kareena. emaet and heroine? How LATE they arrived? Is she a better actor than ash. of course yes. but she also have limitations, drawbacks, like ash. she can't dance, she can't do action, she can't pull a dirty picture, cos its too bold, but she willing to pull a bikini show, hell yeah. i mean c'mon...we gotta give credits to other actresses too enycedoll. If ash can pull only certain kind of movies so does bebo.
If you remember, a movie Dor was offered to kareena. But of course she didn't do it. It went to ayesha takia. And she DELIVERED. What a wonderful performance that was. Imagine if kareena did the movie , and got critical praise, the chant..MUCH LOUDER, .wah wah kareena,

Yes I am going to give her credit for delivering in jwm and making it a hit, so I have to give credit to ash, for her babies, hddcs and devdas. Fair.

How sad is this. Bhansali calls bebo over. Bebo runs, thinking that its some touchbase with dress designers. Bhansali asks her if she is getting married, she says yes. Bhansali says you are FIRED.
Imagine, you are number one actress of bollywood, and you have to digest this.
2. Rohit Shetty and shah rukh don't sign you but go for deepika.
3. Vishal, Hirani would rather sign Anuskha.
But here is a DIRECT hammla to your superstar status'. your movie emaet gets glowing reviews, its riding on your shoulder's, and it struggles at boxoffice. Your much ADERVISTED heroine bombs at boxoffice.
And Katrinas scores big with mbkd, and who says kat can't carry a movie, this was kats movie, from first promo to last, all about kat. What does this tell you?
Conclusion: There are other worthy ACTORS, and STARS beside kareena kapoor. It's time to wake up.
