Mast in what way? Personality? Mast chokra, I'd say Ayushmann, and coming 2nd to him would be the SOTY boys. The three of them are fun to watch!

Mast chokri is Farah Khan, hands down. None of the girls are 'mast' like her.

Awards wise, though I'd love to give it to Farah/Ileana and Ayushman, I don't think they'll win. Ileana might actually (though I think it's kinda unfair since this is not her first acting stint). Other than Ileana, Yami and Diana were good as well. Alia was okay but her character didn't have much to do her and did nothing for her to display her talent. I heard Huma was good as well, though I didn't watch her film.

For boys, I think it's between Ayushman/Arjun/Varun/Sid. I actually disliked Arjun most out of all of them.. Idk man, sometimes I felt he went too OTT, and Parineeti was better than him and stole the show for me. Varun and Sid need work on their dialogue delivery but they have good screen presence. But I like Ayushman the best out of them.. I found him to be the most natural one.

I can't comment on the rest as I haven't watched their films.

It'll be interesting to see who wins! I think we got some good newbies this year. :)

Mithibani,

Yeah...Ranbir is not a superstar in the sense that the trio of SRK, Salman and Aamir are!
But then they have been around for more than 2 decades and the stardom hasn't been instant! QSQT was Aamir's big hit, but he followed it up with almost a dozen flops...and bounced back only with Dil, from which his career took a U-turn! He was almost written off before Dil released and became a blockbuster!
Same with Salman...he started off with a bang, followed with a lot of hits, but then a period of lull came in his career, where he was giving flops left, right and centre...his superstardom is actually the most recent amongst all the stars...starting with Wanted, 3 years back! Till then, he was a popular star, but not the mega star that he is now!
SRK has been the most consistent in terms of being a star, right from his first film! Infact, its lately that his sitaare have been in gardish! But then, he has ruled bollywood for 20 years, undisputed!
In comparison, Ranbir is doing really well...considering he is barely 5 year old in the industry.
Frankly, I don't see Ranbir ever getting popularity like any of the three Khans (because of his choice of scripts, he doesn't go for commercial / mass entertainers)...but he will be in his own league as an actor and star (something along the lines of Aamir Khan!)
Amongst the newcomers...they all look very promising...but first film is not exactly the best platform to see whether an actor has the potential to become the next big thing or not! They are all good actors and have the requisite star like quality in them, and since bollywood is in such an experimental mode these days, they will all manage to create a niche for themselves in some way or the other...but not sure, which one of them will be able to acheive success like one of the Khan's!🤔 (Somehow, I feel that after the era of Big B and the Khans...bollywood will take a very, very long time in finding stars like them who command the kind of following they do!)
PS: Did anyone notice, all the talked about debutants of the year have been Punjabis? Khurana, Kapoor, Malhotra, Dhawan?

Agree, Salman wasn't even in the reckoning. Suddenly some star up there smiled at him and lo and behold, every Bodyguard he touches turns into a Tiger. 😆
SRK indeed has been consistent. Let's see how long he can continue for. The younger lot...except Ranbir, I have no expectations. Such chikna boys. Me no likey too chikna. 😆
@Bold...indeed!! It always has been! Raj Kapoor, Dev Anand, Rajesh Khanna, Dhramendra...so many others. Even Bachchan has Punju blood in him. 😛

On another note, I loved Ayushman in VD...but lets face it, he was helped by a super-brilliant script and an ensemble of extremely talented actors! It was VD as a film which helped Ayushman rather than the other way round!
In that respect, Arjun Kapoor was saddled with the worst script this year, the most despicable character for a leading man and on top of that, made to look like a sadak-chaap in his very first film...he still managed to make it work somehow! Considering that he debuted with YRF (whose studio grounds is leased by Filmfare for free) and he had the most challenging role amongst the newbies...he stands the strongest chance to win the best debutant!
PS : Siddharth and Varun are the luckiest that way...they were made to look so gorgeous in every single frame and given ample oppurtunity to not just show their talent in dancing and acting, but also show off their abs and other body parts after every 60 seconds! Is it any wonder they are trending in twitter?

Mast chokra: Ayushmaan

Mast chokri: Yami

Both of them with no famous last names attached to their first names... no godfathers backing them... no big production house launching them in a glossy product... They still managed to shine thru and gave us a delightful movie to watch... 👍🏼
