I would say VD.

1.Firstly this movie had debutants Yami and Ayushman who are no stars.

2.The movie had a script which I havent seen in BW,quite diffrent and still the audience accpeted it .

Not to forget many people came to know after this movie that there is someting like Sperm donation.😆

What I'm trying to say is that competition has now increased now just critically, but also commercially. A year back films like EV, VD and OMG would have gone completely unnoticed, but now people are warming up to such films too. When a Salman Khan film released across India, even the neutral junta went to watch it because there was no other film to watch, but now things are not the same. People have so many different films to choose from, so Dabbang 2 might not be everyone's first choice.

Barfi and EV..

Barfi was something new, one of the rare poetic films ever see on on celluloid! and shockingly it also enetered 100 crore club, loved it!! and then EV - simple, sweet ; such a wonderful film this one took me to suprise!

And didn't like Vicky Donor much - the first half was hilarious and innovatove but the second half was all Rona-dhona which screwed it

I am honestly shocked with the hype Student of The Year has got from public and from the industry.

Before movie released varun dhawan and siddharth malhotra got more fans than ranbir and imran has together combined. These siddharth and varun fan girls are annoying now, they talk about them non stop before movie releasing I am like first see the movie then become so big fans. People become fans of people so easily today. During the days when I was a teenage no one became a fan of someone in 1 day, things have changed.

Back to SOTY, I am really shocked. The movie got more hype than aamir, salman, srk etc. movies gets.

What more is shocking is that every celeb did praise the movie on twitter. This just shows that bollywood is a huge facade, and everyone is fake. Karan is a powerful person that's why everyone is licking his ass even though the movie was awful.

I would choose Kahaani.I don't know whether it was the story or the hype of Vidya winning the National Award or what.The movie began on a an average note but the WOM and the discussion about the movie which resulted in the movie earning around 80 Crores was definitely path breaking if not the movie on the whole.I mean like people had zero expectations of the movie being even a hit,let alone blockbuster.
Coming to the topic,I don't think any movie on the whole has been path breaking this year.Bollywood is definitely bringing out good to great movies no doubt,but can't term the story of a movie as path breaking at least till now.

^^^But almost all the members who have posted their reviews in the forum have really liked SOTY.

I think there isn't a single outright negative user review!

Yeah for SOTY Karan did huge publicity and whats wrong in that when you make a product wont you make ends meet for its sucess?Its business.Sid and Varun have fans cuz they have got looks and the movie looked promising.The times that u r talking when it took 2-3 movies to become a fan was a very diffrent time where promotions and marketing werent really there as compared to today times.

Have you seen the movie to call it awful?Just because SOTY is teen comedy type from Karan the movie is suposed to be awful?
