Rowdy Rathore Tuesday Business

Wednesday 5th June 2012 11.30 IST

Boxofficeindia.Com Trade Network

Rowdy Rathore collected a huge 8 crore nett on Tuesday as all circuits were rock steady with drops in the 10% region.

Delhi/UP had a slightly bigger drop as it was very strong on Monday. the film has now collected around 64.50 crore nett in five days and a 77 crore nett week total is on the cards.

The single screen business of the film is one par with the biggest single screen hits of the last few years like Dabangg and Bodyguard.

Rowdy Rathore will have competition every week as there will be a major release every week in June but all these releases will not affect it one bit at single screens as exhibitors will continue with Rowdy Rathore as the releases have nothing to offer single screen audiences.

At multiplexes it will be different as the bew releases will get screen space and Friday will tell what sort of contribution multiplexes will give Rowdy rathore in the long run.

BO: Can 'Rowdy Rathore' beat
'Agneepath'?
IBNLive.com | 06-Jun 16:03 PM
New Delhi: The buzz
surrounding Akshay Kumar's
'Rowdy Rathore' has simply
refused to die down. The film
seems eager to enter the Rs
100 crore movie club. So far, the
film has gathered Rs 65.92
crore at the box office. Trade
analyst Taran Adarsh tweets,
"RowdyRathore Fri 15.1 cr, Sat
14.7 cr, Sun 18.5 cr, Mon 9.5 cr,
Tue 8.12 cr. Total: 65.92 cr nett.
FANTABULOUS!"
Rowdy Rathore's business is
still picking up in the overseas
market. The film continues to do
better in foreign markets, Taran
Adarsh tweets, "RowdyRathore
Monday figures 'better/at par'
with Friday numbers in U.K.,
Australia and New Zealand.
Rarely does it happen!"
Made at an approximate budget
of Rs 45 crore, 'Rowdy Rathore'
had recovered its cost even
before hitting the screens. The
satellite, video and music rights
of the film were sold for Rs 37,
7 and 3 crore respectively.
Released across 3000 screens,
the film is a super success at
single screens and small
centers.
The promoters of 'Rowdy
Rathore' will now be hoping for
it to cross the total collection of
'Agneepath' as soon as
possible. This will make it the
highest grosser of 2012 so far.

I think this is the last straw of my hopes on BW...the SHITTIEST films are 100 crore grossers!
I saw this last night, and I'm in shock as to how bad it was...is this what BW has come to? There is NO progression since the 90's.
Yes some bits were abit funny, and the child track was heartwarming...but the REST...Haila I didn't think Movies this rubbish could be made.
Sorry if I offend anyone but I think it was one of the worst movies I've seen.
