Kareena has always said that she has a big role in Bodyguard..she also stated once that her role is more important then Salman's! she always seemed very proud of the role..but now since she is not doing any of those types of movies..she has completely retracted her statement!

Anyways the essence of what I wrote,
Katrina=genuine,
Kareena=not genuine.

When I go see a movie, I do not care about the past glorious films of an actress. I don't dismiss a bad performance by saying "well she has potential cuz back in 2007 she kicked ass in JWM" As a consumer I care about NOW, what my 15$ paid for. Perhaps fans more more emphatetic towards kareena. If it leaves a bad taste in my mouth, I won't be so forgiving. No one is criticizing Kareena for wanting box office sucess. It is the way she went about doing it (we all know how colourful Kareena's vocabulary is). She praised her movie as the next best so and so and then (after milking what she wanted out of said movies) she decides it is the right time to be candid about the issues she faced being part of it. A little too late, don't you think so? That is like me eating all the chocolate I want and get full then chastise everyone else on the health risk of eating junk food. Let's not forget Kareena went to seek out those projects if I'm not wrong. Anyways, I feel Kareena is the poster girl for false advertising. Katrina fans know what to expect when they watch her, and she delivers just that every time. Kareena; not so much. Had she not been so vocal on how great her films were and how the Khans were so wonderful, today her statements would have seem much more heartfelt. You cannot cry wolf (in her case hailing her crap films as the next best thing) and not expect an angry mob (or a disconnect in audience)

By the by. Regarding Ra.One and Bodyguard - in my opinion, I think the roles were not bad at all.

Bodyguard - Okay the first part of her role was like "W*F" - I can't stand Salman Khan movies post 1999, but I just went to the cinema to see it because of Kareena. Luckily the second half of her role was pretty good, and she played it so well. I don't think half the actresses we have today could have carried it off. In fact just a select few. But she played it perfectly. She does cry well, better than most.

Ra.One - I think her role in this was far better than Bodyguard. People just seem to remember the Chammak Challo song but her character actually required a seasoned actress to play it. Her opening scenes were light but not fluffy. She "looked" the part, in her mannerisms, playing the mother of a child - which she is not in real life. I don't think some of the other females could have done it with such ease. Also when SRK's character dies, she totally owns the film in those scenes. Her emotions and expressions are on point. Only Kajol, Madhuri, Sridevi could have played it that well.

So people need to watch the film again, and take notes, because she had more to do in these flicks than just shake her ass.

You dont have to believe me when I say this, but Kareena didnt go to seek out those projects.

Infact she was offered Bodyguard first, and was completely booked with Agent Vinod, Heroine, and Golmaal 3.

When Ra.one came to her, Saif actually decided to POSTPONE Agent Vinod SO Kareena could do Ra.One, and she let go of Heroine.

Then she signed EMAET. Soon enough, Aamir's approahced her for Talaash, and again she was in a dilemma considering that she was booked.

So Imran and Karan decided that they'd let her do Talaash and had to wait for her to finish Ra.One so she coudl start shooting EMAET.

So no, she didnt seek out ANY of these big projects. If anything, she had to let go and postone current projects to accomodate them.

She got greedy for those hits, and who can blame her in the era of Katrina Kaif?

sorry but i never negated any of those points...so i dunt get wht the argument is abt...

I negated the fact tht u said she dissed the 100 crore films which she clearly didnt...she still says shes gonna keep doing them...its none of my business if u find her not genuine, or unremarkable or whtever...im just trying to negate the facts...not the opinions...she didnt diss the 100 crore films and she definately didnt cry wolf because she clearly said she will continue to do the potboilers because tht is wht people want...

kareena said it was necessary for actresses to do those films..so the previous point u said abt anushka, katrina etc's 100 crore films being "belittled" by her dosent hold...

thts all im arguing...im not here to change wht u think of her as an actress, or her speaking abilities...

So maybe, the audience's mindset has to change as well" disgusting..what is her problem?? if the movie was soo bad..and if it was all about Salman..and him taking off his shirt..then why did she do the movie?? and why blame the audience when you yourself are making no frikin change???

I think this would be a time to tell people that do NOT qutoe her directly from this article since I'm the one who SUMMARIZED IT.

I was typing it up as she was talking, so I obviously missed bits and pieces.

Its all out of order so just WATCH the video.

And she STILL says that she will do a Salman starrer if she's doing something risky on teh side.

Peopel are obviously missing her point and judging her on ISOLATED quotes is not gonna help you understand her point.

She did NOT degrade the Khans.

She did NOT say there's anything wrong with the audience mindset per say, but that times are not changing as fast as we think. That yes, there is progress, but we're still not htere yet, AND GIVES EXAMPLE OF BODYGUARD.

Its her OWN film, and peopel still ahve a problem with her being critical of it?

Are these the same people that say that Kareena doesnt criticize herself or her films?

What do peopel want from Kareena? To keep singing praises for Khans? To not be criitical of her own choices?

The truth is, no matter WHAT Kareena says, peopel will find a way to criticize her.

Simple.
