Of course she can be blamed by consumers. If actresses can be praised for their movie choices, they can also be blamed for it. No one forced her to sign that many movies at once. Quantity < Quality. As a grown woman (with 12 years in the industry + watching big sis on the set) she should know her own limits. If I were to hire someone to work for me, I don't care if they have 2 other jobs at the side, I expect 100% while working for me. That is their deliberate choice to have other jobs. Sure enough we the movie-going audience expect the same out of our actresses for the movies we watch. And I know Desigal has said many times that Kareena hasn't exactly hailed her movies from the beginning but try to see it from my perspective. I, needless to say am not a huge fan of Kareena (neither of any actress actually) I don't take what they say as the bible, paying attention to every technicality. The jist of what I got from Kareena's promoting her movies is that she is praising it one way or another. She never even hinted at any issues she had with it. She witheld it completely. That is fine, it's bad business sense to do so. However, how can she not think twice before admitting all the issues she has with her "flowerpot' roles? If she had said what she is saying now during time of promotions, I would have personally crowned her the gutsiest actress of all time. But no, she is saying these after the fact which really doesn't make a difference project her as a hypocrite. She stated she has no problems doing those roles again, let me say once again, that's not really helping anything.
Frankly I don't see what Kareena has to be scared about either. Is she scared of getting flops? Why? She is the daughter of the Kapoors, she is (I'm assuming) extremely wealthy, connected, a top actress, why is she afraid? One of her female cousin runs a theatre and seems completely happy doing it. It took someone who is not connected to the film fraternity to make some changes in the industry. I don't see Vidya saying half the things Kareena would say had she reached the same position in terms of acclaim. I find it highly counter-productive of Kareena to say the things she said all the while hoping to ride on Vidya's tide of strong female character now that she saw there's an audience for it. All Kareena is doing is observing the trend and trying to cash in on it, when in theory she should be the one creating them. If she is going on doing what she wants changed, I think it automatically takes away her right to bitch about it.
