The better ACTRESS? PRIYANKA or VIDYA?!

😆😉 This should be a interesting topic. And I can promise that this can be a valid comparison since both pretty much came at the same time (minus or plus a few years). Priyanka came in 2003 with Andaaz and Vidya just came a little thereafter with Parineenta. These two actresses have come a long way. Both have even shown appreciation for each other in some interviews. And one can say they have impressive films to their credit. But, I think this is a hard choice to make. I think both have been successful in their own right. But, when it comes to consistency, Vidya rules in that. She has given four impressive performances in a row. But, Priyanka's last three films have been mixed to say the least! Overall, who is a better actress? PRIYANKA or VIDYA? My choice is VIDYA.

Vidya...

Priyanka is good but vidya is ahead of her... she is more consistent, she always does performance oriented roles and can make a movie hit on her own...so my vote goes to her!

Of course priyanka is the bigger star!

Absolutely! 👏 Being a bigger star is not everything. Vidya has both critical and commercial acclaim. I hope Kahaani is a runaway hit. Priyanka does not have that right now. Hopefully, Barfee will change that. I have no expectations from that film she is doing with Shahid, sounds like a ripoff of the ill-fated Action Replayy. 😆

Vidya films are dong very well at the B.O these days, it's been quit along time since she has a flop movie I think only 1 film where she play lead in Bombed at the B.O. But I think Vidya has more B.O power than PC.

Coming to who's the "Better Actress" I think there both good in there own way I have seem some roles from PC I don't think Vidya would be able to pull off and some roles from Vidya I don't think PC wouldn't be able to pull off PC even said so herself that she can't pull off a film like "TDP" because no matter how much she eat she isn't able to gain that much weight 😆

I'm a bigger fan of Vidya here :)

PC IMO is not much of an actress. She is bolder than other commercial heroines while it comes to her choice of roles. Thats why she has good roles and films.

Vidya is also bold in her choice of roles though many will argue that she has no option to do commercial unlike PC which is true. But Vidya emotes with her eyes and body language. She knows the craft of acting.

Priyanka never really had box-office power. Her movies have mostly failed to do well so its not like its a katrina vs vidya here or to some extent kareena vs vidya as in those cases it wuld more b like box office power vs acting skills

however here, unfortunately no one IMO has box-office power! Vidya's movies have worked coz of skin show (her last release) and extremely positive WORD OF MOUTH , most of her movies carry, they didnt have a curiosity factor that vidya is there, may be post TDP it might but so far it hasnt been that much and priyanka's movies have hardly worked baring very few!

so having cleared that! the one tool they both are left with is ACTING! and yes both have a grip over it!

Another similarity is that both are suited and act well in real cinema and serious characters! Priyanka in fahsion, 7 khoon maaf and Vidya in Ishqiya and TDP. They both essayed these serious roles effortlessly!

however their weakness is they cannot play normal relatable roles well. Priyanka is a disaster in them, she makes it obvious she is acting, be it anjana anjani, salaam-e-ishq she faces problem to control herself and goes way over the top. Vidya too loses her grip as an actor in these roles, may be she get distracted over costumes or looks and it shows in KK and Hey baby where she was not much in character and her performance was flat!

However if i have to choose as an actor, i will say priyanka! i gues she can have a broader horizon than vidya, and honestly i think her performance in 7 KHOON MAAF is very under-rated, instead of fashion she deserved national award for this one! so yes its priyanka for me but only in serious real cinema, in commercial ones they both dont do it for me!

PC can do both commercial and artsy (SKM was good thanks to her). Vidya as I have always maintained is a limited actress. Plus on a more personal note, Vidya bores me on screen. I could watch her in something like No one killed Jessica or Parineeta but I wouldn't watch her in something like Hey Baby even if someone pays me to. While I can still tolerate Priyanka in shoddy scripts like Anjana Anjani. Priyanka and Kareena light up the screen, they have a very strong screen presence. Vidya is just...let's just say...bland.

NOKJ was Vidya most boring perfromance till date 😆 The film it's self was boring to say the least, she was good in Ishqiya, Parineeta & TDP are are best performance.

Again can someone explain to me what is commercial cinema because as far as I know.

vidya's best performances are seen only in women orientated roles, in commercial films like hey baby and kismaat konnection she was just an embarrassment...that is where priyanka is more versatile, she can act well both in commercial movies like don 2, mujse shaadi koroge and pull off women orientated roles like fashion and 7 khoon maaf (although it wasn't a hit, her performance was widely praised)...so basically vidya's best performances are only seen in certain genres while this isn't the case for priyanka...Also, in the Bolly industry, part of the acting requirements is to dance, and we all know who effortlessly pulls that off...and like dexter has said, she is very boring..
