Buzz is that Sriram Raghavan's obsession with details is further delaying Saif Ali Khan's 'Agent Vinod'
Buzz is that the release date of Saif Ali Khan's next, Agent Vinod will not be announced until director Sriram Raghavan is sure of meeting his deadline.

Sources also say that a couple of day's time of shoot is also pending. Earlier, the film's release was scheduled for December 9.

Saif Ali Khan on the sets of Agent Vinod

Talking about the time taken to make the spy-thriller, our source says, "After completing a schedule, Sriram would edit the portions and revisit the script.

This would help him figure out if some scenes in the next schedules could be replaced by just a couple of intermediate shots.

So the screenplay and shot division for the next schedules would undergo some change, for a better product, instead of salvaging it on the editing table."

It is learnt that while the principle shooting and the songs have been shot and the film is in post-production stages, a couple of patch-work shots still remain. "Minor shots to connect two scenes better, are to be completed," reveals our source.

Not to forget the special effects, for a better finishing of the action sequences. "There are a number of scenes that have been done with the help of cable and wirework.

So those have to be eliminated from the frames," says our source, adding that the movie has about 500 special effects shots. "And that's obviously going to take some time."

Also, the director is equally fastidious about the right sound mixing for his movies. "Even if Sriram has locked things up to a portion of the movie, the next day he'll go through the previous work just to be double sure. It's never over till he's satisfied with the final product," sums up our source.

sigh...if it wasnt for him directing this movie, i would have given up hope on it long ago..

come to think of it, he takes long for all his movies...RGV said sriram took 6 months to make Ek hasina thi although the schedule was 40 days...same with johnny gaddar...went over schedule big time apparently...

well, as long as it translates to a good film (which it did the last two times), i can wait...id rather have tht than a shoddy film releasing on time..

yeh they did go over schedule...thts why there was such a huge gap between EHT and JG, because he took and epic long time to script and shoot it.
yeh but he said the same abt LAK and it being imtu's best work but i hated it save the sardar ji parts...

*fingers, toes, legs crossed*
Its ridiculous how long this film's taking.
But then, seeing other crap products gives me some faith that here's a director who's so obsessed with every little detail that he doesnt mind how long it takes, as long it it looks good.
While some of our producer/directors first finalize a release date (Christmas, Diwali, Eid, etc) and then begin shooting to meet the deadline, Sriram's like the opposite! 😆

And when the movie is finally ready, the Censor Board and other legal problems will begin delaying it further. 😆

And then to to it all off, every 4th article about Agent Vinod is about how my majnu injures himself in various ways.
Saif Ali Khan injured himself on sets

The actor injured himself while enacting an action scene on the sets of his home production

Saif Ali Khan recently injured himself badly while shooting for a stunt sequence for Agent Vinod.

Says a source close to Saif, "Saif hurt his arm during the action scene and the unit had to stop shooting because of that twice as his arm started hurting badly. It was a scene which involved shooting at others, who are following him, while riding a jeep. Saif was hanging on the door and shooting while the jeep was going on high speed. Basically he had to hang on the road of the moving jeep. Suddenly the jeep's speed shot up over 80 km per hour, Saif's arm got pulled badly and he tore a muscle. It was actually a mistake of the stunt guy who got a bit nervous and drove too fast but Saif, instead of losing his cool, was very sweet to him and just told him to be more careful next time."

But Saif didn't want to create any fuss so he balanced the gun and continued to shoot quietly. "He had torn a muscle in his right arm. Despite being in great pain Saif still managed to complete the scene. They changed the scene slightly. Instead of him hanging from the jeep the stunt now has him sitting in the seat and shooting. Saif wants to complete Ageny Vinod on time for release in February next year so he didn't want to cancel the shoot. But towards the end of the day as the medicines wear off, the pain becomes unbearable. In fact, on the last day of the shoot, after his last shot got over, Saif was in so much pain that they had to cut off his kurta's arm to have a look at it. It had become swollen and blue and a doctor had to be called on the sets to administer some painkillers before Saif could go home."

This movie is one of the longest in the making in recent times. I hope the effort is worth it.
