Force Movie Review: *** (Three Stars) A treat for action lovers andJohn Abraham fans! nary affair.

Bollywood Masala films are in! Films like Ghajini, Wanted, Dabangg and Singham have brought back the masala film era with all the senseless maar-dhaar and hero v/s villain wars. And now after Aamir Khan, Salman Khan and Ajay Devgn; John Abraham is back on the forefront to entertain the masses with his newly released Force. Teamed up with Genelia Dsouza, the success of Force is actually extremely important for both its lead actors. Where Genelia hasn't had a single hit post her 'comeback' with Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, John Abraham's last hit was the Yashraj starrer New York post which he has had a series of duds. So will Force be able to revive John and Genelia's declining career graphs? Most probably!

Yashvardhan (John Abraham) is a hard-headed senior narcotics officer who doesn't play by the book but always ensures that justice is served. He believes that the only way to eradicate crime is to give criminals the bullet - not hand cuffs. In the midst of his most dangerous and significant operation to crack down on India's drug cartels, Yashvardhan encounters a ruthless enemy who will stop at nothing until he gets his revenge for the damage done to his business by the narcotics team. He also meets the free-spirited Maya (Genelia Dsouza), whose love pushes him to make a choice between the life he already knows and the life he could have with her. Yashvardhan's decision to let happiness and normalcy into his life changes his life forever.

Let's get one thing straight, Force is nothing extra-ordinary. It has the very clichd stereotypical storyline providing nothing new to the audiences with regards to its story. However, it's not the story but the execution which scores. Also, there is no doubt that Force is a fultoo action-packed masala film. However, the best part of Force unlike many other films of a similar genre is that, it doesn't hurt your intelligence. It is not one of those senseless films where you need to assume the ongoings for the sake of it being a 'Bollywood' film. It has substance! But, as expected, the best part of the film is its action sequences. In fact, it's the action sequences which makes this stereotypical story a fun watch. The romance between John and Genelia is a little amateurish, but cute. The first half of the film is strictly okay, it tends to get a little slow. However, the film picks up big time in its second half considering it comprises of Force's three strong points – its action scenes, display of John's incredible physique and the villain Vidyut Jammwal.

Nishikant Kamat receives full marks as the director. Making a predictable script an interesting watch is no cake-walk. Also, at no place does he go over-the-top which is usually seen in such films. Cinematography by Ayananka Bose is fantastic. However, the best is the action scenes by Allan Amin. He takes the film to a completely different level with his brilliance. John Abrahamlooks absolutely mind-blowing! He not only looks his part but also gives in a decent performance considering his character of a hard-headed officer doesn't require him to give a range of expressions. Though, it's the emotional scenes where his acting limitations come across.

Nevertheless, he easily compensates for it with his brilliant physical ability which has much more importance in this film. Genelia Dsouza looks cute and is at ease looking her graceful best. Though, she too needs to brush up on her acting skills, especially in the emotional scenes. However, the surprise package of Force is the bad man of the film, newcomer Vidyut Jammwal. He does not only look terrific being equally competent to John, but also given in a confident performance. In fact, along with the action scenes he is easily the best part of the film. Mohnish Bahl and Sandhya Mridul are first-rate. Kamlesh Sawant contributes some funny moments. Mukesh Rishi does his usual bit. Amit Gaurr, Raj Babbar, Anaitha Nair and Kiran Karmakar don't get much scope.

Overall, Force is no extra-ordinary affair. However, it's terrific action-packed sequences, engaging screenplay and John's chiseled body makes it a treat to watch for all action lovers and John Abraham fans!

Gen's career is as good and bad as Sonam, Deepika, and Sonakshi's career. It's anyone's game at this point.

I will be happy if the movie does well for Gen's sake. She's a good actor!...I would have never known that had it not been for her South films. THanks to you for letting me know.

So looks like they have opted for the tragic ending. Even for the tamil version, there was an alternate ending which was not used while they used that happy ending for the telegu version.
