I know that temple very well. It is interesting to see all the doors closed and Aishwarya alone in the main sanctum and no devotee even in the outer area - where the mouse is placed. Did they close all traffic just for her? That would be really out of the ordinary - considering it is Ganesh Chaturthi season and very crowded still. I have not seen them close the main doors for even the Shankaracharyas...this is really unprecedented.

I have seen two Shankaracharyas ( to the uninitiated - they are high priests/ religious leaders) visit the temple. What they do is hold back traffic and let the Acharyas enter with their entourage. The doors are left open and you can watch them pray. The devotees stay in the outer area holding their place in the line, and the areas near the mouse are absolutely packed with folks - there is absolutely no question of closing the doors to the sanctum.

Secondly - do folks have any idea how many people queue to get darshan during Ganesh Chathurthi? Until Sunday - there are long queues. Just how on earth did they think it was OK to shut the temple to all of them so that a film actress could come in and pray in privacy? Exactly what message does this send to the aam janta waiting in line for darshan?

This is beyond unprecedented - this is downright weird - really screwed up decision - made by the temple authorities.

Oh and yeah - she does look absolutely gorgeous. Good luck to her and the baby.
