It seems actor Karisma Kapoor and Delhi-based businessman Sanjay Kapur, whose marriage has been said to be in trouble for a while now, may have found a solution to their rumoured marital discord. Sources say, they won't separate legally, but will stay in separate cities.
Karisma, who recently turned 37, has apparently taken this decision keeping her kids in mind, close friends of the couple reveal. It may be recalled that in 2005, Sanjay moved the Delhi High Court seeking a restraining order against Karisma who was travelling abroad with their daughter Samaira. The court suggested the couple reconcile.
Karisma in the past has confirmed that she intends to stay and work in Mumbai, while Sanjay's business is Delhi-based. Spokespersons have maintained in the past that "It's work that keeps the couple away from each other."
"Despite the innumerable differences that had cropped up between them, they knew that they have to be responsible parents also. They have accepted the fact that they shouldn't get legally separated at this point as their kids are growing up," says a source.
Karisma, who's looking to sign more movies, is currently shooting for a movie where she plays the lead role. "Karisma was reportedly upset with rumours of Sanjay dating a former model and ex-wife of a hotelier. They really didn't talk about it, but it created considerable rift. Since then, both of them had a conversation and they understood that they need to behave as responsible parents," the common friend adds.
At this point, both the kids keep spending time with the parents — in most cases it's Sanjay who makes a trip to Mumbai to see the one-year-old Kiaan Raj Kapoor and six-year-old Samaira, who's close to her dad, sometimes travels to Delhi to be with him.
