Perhaps it was not a lie before but then Thadani tried to use pressure tactics and Dhar decided to not associate Dhurandhar 2 with Border 2 as his own move

Isn't it too early for a teaser or trailer of sorts anyway? I somehow never believed this from the start...It looked more like a promotional tactic by the Border 2 team...

There’s no fixed timeline nor any fixed duration of how long a teaser can be. I mean look at Varanasi, Rajamouli has released what’s essentially a teaser nearly 2 years in advance. And in this case since the movie is slated to release in less than 2 months the teaser should drop any time now. Wouldn’t surprise me if they do it on 30th since the movie drops on Netflix that day too.

Dhar has confirmed it’s coming out in a few days but not given any details regarding the time and date. But January is almost over, movie is due on 19 March. They don’t have a lot of time even if they continue with the same strategy as part 1 regarding promotions and publicity campaigns. Essentially stick with almost nothing but even part 1 teaser had dropped 4/5 months before the movie was released in December.

T-Series would have had to pay for adding a teaser as Aditya wasn't the one to have this wish... then the distribution-mess happened...

I think the mess just came out in public later. These things cannot be decided so quickly and abruptly. It had to have started even before the news leaked intentionally.

Thadani thought he could have his cake and eat it too because the craze that Dhurandhar has generated would mean that there would be plenty of people crazy enough to want to catch the teaser as quickly as possible too.

Border is already a legacy movie. Combine it with this craze and he cannot just make more money but also strong-arm theatre owners and multiplexes into giving him more screens for Toxic. Win-win for him.

They turned the tables by refusing to play along.
