No.

& Can you please change the title? 'Indians want to be white' is gross & belittling & generalizing & offensive but she doesn't say it anywhere.

Wow, so she goes to the US and is making fun of Indians without bothering to check facts?

It's fine if she says she doesn't want to use a fairness cream, but she has no right to make fun of people using it. In a country like India where the population has different varities of skin, ranging from fair to brown to dark, dark people are often made fun of. People don't want to be ridiculed for having dark skin. So I can def see why they would opt for it.

That said, I still despise fairness creams which claim to make you look more 'handsome' or 'beautiful'. I will not support stars who endorse it either.

^ " It's just this thing that people [in India] are so fascinated by white skin. There's a lot of people there who are naturally really pale. But the whole idea that you have to be fair – without naming actors, but there are actors who admit it – the fairer you are, the easier it is"

I read the entire article. you need to change the subject.

no she's not directly saying that neither she's denying that indians are obsessed with fairness.

example being Aishwarya Rai. 😊

LOL.. there is a difference in being 'white' and 'fair'.. 😆😆 IMO, 'white' implies that they want to look western..

don't know if that makes sense.. but oh well.. 😆😆

It makes sense! She doesn't use the term 'white' anywhere. It does have different implications. 'White' is usually used to define a race. (Caucasians in North America/Europe etc)

She says that there are people in India who are fascinated with fair skin. Idk what is wrong with that.
