although she is correct but all articles about her comment on color obsession all the times and how good she is doing in HW. Its kinda becoming repetitive.

None of her performance have been highly mentioned in media here. Just do your work girl because you got extremely lucky SDM.

she gets on my nerves, indians r fixated with being fair, true admit it, but things have changed a lot and certainly in her time.long before her came bipasha basu, then there is reshmi ghosh, and nayanika chatterjee in modelling, they were not fair, then there is nina maual, carol gracious. and they came way before she did.

she is smart talented and also luck is favoring her,:so do ur job, u dont want to be identified as Indian anymore, fine, we can do without the likes of such FOBs

some Indians might want to be white, just like some white skinned people prefer indoor tanning or sunbathing to tan their skin, but not all. dont judge the people by their nationality.

Irregardless of what you try to do and heights you reach you cannot change what you are born with. So accept it and try not act like you are better than those "Indians". You are one of them.

To an extent, Pinto is right. There is a fixation (not all, but a lot of people) in trying to become white skinned. However, I disagree with her highlighting Indians only. I would say it's an Asian thing where some people are obsessed with getting a more whiter skin tone because they believe that it will make them look more attractive. It's absurd thinking but there are people that obssess over it. And these bloody fairness creams don't exactly help the cause.

But then you also have some (not all) white people that are also obssessed with the colour of their skin, thinking it is inferior to be darker. The world has progressed but you still have people that hold that level of thinking. I was reminded of this myself a few days ago...Anyway, brown/dark skinned people should just embrace their colour.
