The industry wont reject a director who gives hit + acclaimed films on the basis that he pulled the plug because Rai became pregnant. Think about it, as long as a director can deliver hits and write good films he is ultimatley more valuable than the actress who has crossed her peak. And i don't mean that on a personal level, i would love seeing older females getting roles left and right and still being in the cream of the crop, but realistically i doubt this.

Raj Kumar Santoshi, and every other producer-director-company will sing a different tune if Aishwarya Rai cant bounce back physically. Her beauty is her driving force, if she looses that then i dont know who will put her in their film.

I don't know if you think i hate Aish. I don't. I'm one of the few people on IF who have enjoyed many of her films growing up some of which are my favourites. But i am looking at this situation objectivley. Her career is at stake here, and it is a combination of how she deals with this madhur situation and if she can maintain her physical look that will decide the future, which for now is as murky as ever.

Director Rajkumar Santoshi, who had recently announced his film, Ladies and Gentlemen, with Rai-Bachchan and her husband, Abhishek, in the lead, says, "It is a film that I had written keeping her in mind. For now, the movie has been postponed to next year. She is a talented and beautiful artiste and this period should be treated as her maternity leave."
