I just feel this issue should've been resolved in a set of private meetings. The director choosing to go the public way made it impossible for Ash because she could've easily issued a public statement defending herself against the director's claims. But that ONE statement of hers will give rise to a zillion other questions which will again go back to the intimate details of her pregnancy. And NO woman in the world would be comfortable with that intrusion of privacy. Not even a superstar who is used to it because it is too intimate.
Whenever she gives a statement the whole world would does not need to know her intimate details of her pregnancy. When and how she became pregnant doesn't matter at all cuz end result is that she is pregnant and everyone should be happy for her and her family. What everyone wants to know is
1) Why she signed the film despite knowing she's pregnant?
2) Why not confide in her director (she could have had him sign a non-disclosure agreement or something - just thought of this as everyone is talking about contracts, agreements etc) so whatever they discussed was between them
3) Following tradition she had her FIL announce it which is fine but before tweeting it he should have told all the directors she's working with or going to work with first as it's their family's obligation to personally tell them about this as it'll have some impact on their films.
Madhur came out with statments to the media, well it's a bit of tit for tat as he found out about this pregnancy through the media as well. What goes around comes around.
When a lady gets pregnant they often wait until after their first trimester to inform colleagues, friends, other non-immediate family etc as they have pased the first risky months but anything can happen later so its good to let others know so they don't let her overwork herself. In an office job the employer and colleagues can wait to know as the pregnancy doesn't get in the way of her doing her job if she's mostly sitting, talking or typing whatever it is and most importantly whenever she decides to start her mat leave the employer can put anyone in her place to cover her job. For an actress it's different and more complicated as they get a role based on their acting skills and looks if it matters to the role like in Heroine she needs to be glamorous in her best phases and depending on how Madhur had scheduled that it could have been at the very end of the shoot. Who knows? Plus who can guarantee that a pregnant lady will only gain weight later in her pregnancy and not earlier - it can be whenever as it depends on the pregnancy.
Lastly Abhishek should say something just to show that he does have a voice in this but it's not really necessary as everyone wants to hear from Aish as so what she has to say and what was she thinking.
We should all let her enjoy her pregnancy but she should come out and apologize and clear the air sometimes silence can work wonders but in this case it's not helping.
