Kalyug girl Deepal Shaw has been spotted in the company of Randeep Hooda lately.

According to sources the pair meet up regularly at cafs for long chat sessions.

And besides he has offered her a role in his next, Risk, directed by Vishram Sawant. A talk with Deepal on her "special friend Randeep", Kalyug and Karma Confessions and Holi:

Give us the lowdown on your dosti with Randeep Hooda?
We are good friends. I am only 19 (Hooda is 29) and Randeep is very senior and I respect him. He is like an agony aunt to me to whom I can pour out all my problems to. It's too soon for people to jump to conclusions about us. Randeep has been a great advisor to me and I must be like a kid to him.

Didn't he offer you Vishram Sawant's Risk?
It's true that I never spoke to Vishram about the film. It was Randeep who asked me, if I wanted to do the film but I asked him to show me the script first and then I would decide. I haven't signed Risk yet.

What's your take on Randeep?
I am very happy that I have a special friend like Randeep in my life. He's a person I look up and listen to his advice always. I don't listen to anybody else. We make each other laugh.

Randeep as an actor will is capable of changing the meaning of Indian cinema. I speak about him not because of his first work (D) but as someone who knows him. The dream I see in his eyes and the passion for his work will take him far. I can write it on stamp paper.

We tend to write off budding talent but that's wrong… victory is about defeating your last work. Randeep and I share a similarity, we don't compete with the world but ourselves – he with himself and me with myself.

Have you watched D?
I haven't seen D though I keep promising Randeep that I will get a DVD and watch it. Randeep with his busy working schedule has not watched Kalyug either.

Tell us about the Kunal linkup.
The Kunal link-up started during Kalyug and there was no truth to it. In fact, Mohit used to call me a dyke as I had no man in my life. I have not had a relationship since I broke off with my boyfriend during my music video, Kabhi Aar Kabhi Paar, one and a half years ago. We were childhood friends and the split has made me a stronger person.

Are you happy with Kalyug?
Yes. Earlier I was written off as an item girl. I found that very unfair. I wanted to act since I was eight and I only I did the music video to showcase my talent.

The industry has appreciated and accepted me after Kalyug. Govindaji has called up to say that he liked my work. Now the battle has been won - people will wont remember me for my legs or gyrating hips, but my performance.

What films are you doing?
I haven't signed any as yet, but am reading many scripts every day. I don't want to be known as a glamorous bimbette. I want to contribute to the upliftment of the film. I want to do great things for society as I am a very ambitious person.

Kalyug is my second step to wards my 100 goals, I see myself as best actor, celebrity brand and many more things…. Music videos was a medium to elevate myself into movies so I will not do a Baby Doll again.

Tell us about Drena Di Niro's Karma, Confessions and Holi…
I chose Karma… as I wanted to spread my wings everywhere in the world. I play Preiti, very bubbly and opposed to Annie in Kalyug, and have an affair with a younger boy. We had a rollicking time and wrapped up a nine-character film very fast. They are very systematic.
