First of all, I want to say that this topic is not my idea at all. I was browsing another Bollywood forum a few days ago and came across the same topic and found some very interesting discussions arise from it. So I decided to ask the same questions over here and see what happens.

I know its been years since both movies released, a decade for Lagaan in fact, but they both were so good and stood out in their own right - which one did you enjoy more?

1. An acting award for SRK in Swades or one for Aamir Khan in Lagaan? (how they acted the part)

SRK in Swades, because for the first time, it was Mohan Bhargav the character on-screen and not SRK the Superstar! Aamir is anyway, an all-weather actor! He is always good!

2. An acting award for Gayatri Joshi or one for Gracy Singh? (how they acted the part)

Gayatri Joshi was better! Her role was not as stereotypical as Gracy's in Lagaan and she did a good job of an idealist teacher!

3. Mohan or Bhuvan? (regardless of the actor)

Mohan! I mean, I always loved Bhuvan's character since I saw Lagaan, but it was Mohan Bhargav with whom I could instantly identify with!

4. Gita or Gauri? (regardless of the actress)

Gita! The perfect Indian woman. Strong, Individualstic and yet completely down-to-earth and grounded!

5. Trying to get electricity or winning a cricket match?

Both! Trying to get electricity...emotional and heartwarming! Winning a Cricket match...I must have clapped for atleast ten minutes after the film was over with Bhuvan hitting a sixer!😆

6. Pal Pal Hai Bhaari or Radha Kaise Na Jale? (both songs take place in a religious festival)

Both! Pal Pal has amazing lyrics and Radha Kaise Na Jale has amazing rhythm! Both the songs are still very much on my Ipod! Eternal favorites!

7. Yeh Tara Woh Tara or Mitwa? (both songs show people being won over by the lead character's dream)

Both! Yeh Tara, once again has incredible lyrics and Mitwa is such an uplifting song...you feel motivated listening to it!

8. Best story is Swades or Lagaan?

Lagaan! Definitely more unique and character driven than Swades!

9. Best soundtrack is Swades or Lagaan?

Lagaan! Anytime!!!

10. Best dramatic curve is in Swades or Lagaan?

Lagaan! Nothing can beat Cricket in our country!😆

11. White NASA scientists or white British officers/cricket players?

British Officers, deffo! Poor NASA scientists...those guys are doing a good job!😆 They are not villains in anyway!

12. Overall best movie? Swades or Lagaan?

Lagaan! It took us to the Oscars, afterall!😃

Not saying that Garacy's character of gaon ki ladki in Lagaan was not appealing, it's just that I found Gita's character more impactful.

5. Trying to get electricity or winning a cricket match? - I'll choose both cuz winning the cricket match sounds silly but it had a bigger motto behind it.

6. Pal Pal Hai Bhaari or Radha Kaise Na Jale? (both songs take place in a religious festival) - Love both the songs, both are significant in their own way.

7. Yeh Tara Woh Tara or Mitwa? (both songs show people being won over by the lead character's dream) - Yeh Tara hands down! The lyrics of the song is soul stirring.

8. Best story is Swades or Lagaan? - Umm..Swades.

9. Best soundtrack is Swades or Lagaan? Again difficult to choose cuz both the movies have so many meaningful songs.

10. Best dramatic curve is in Swades or Lagaan? - Lagaan 🤔

11. White NASA scientists or white British officers/cricket players? NASA Scientists were better 😆

12. Overall best movie? Swades or Lagaan? - Swades!

well both swades and lagaan are different stories directed from a different perspective..and both are such a great films dat increased Indian Film Standards..i lovedd both the films so as actng by its cast and direction..

Acting by SRK,Aamir were the biggest strengths for both the films..

i lovee both of dem equally <3

^Well you picked rather "out there" movies like the old Lagaan and barely known Swades

Now if you discussed between say Dabanng and My Name is Khan, you definitely would have more replies here...as well as fan wars to increase the number of pages😆
