Yet saying that the only reason she's where she is, is due to her Kapoor tag is NOT a stretch?

I've never denied that Kapoor tag has defo gotten her that initial push, but after a certain point, it fizzles out. Post 2002, she was on her own. She survived doing a few good films here and there. When her commercial aspects were down, she went into critically acclaimed cinema like Chameli, Yuva, and Dev.

Two hits ailed her in 2004, Aitraaz and Hulchul. Then there was another bad year with 2005. 2006 saw her go through an impressive performance with Omkara. I remember she won quite a few awards for that role. Also yeh mera dil gave her some limelight that year as well. And 2007, came JWM. THings just got better from there on.

My main point is, its not the Kapoor tag that helped her survive. She had quite a controvertial offscreen persona. Different factors helped keep her in the limelight.

Well that's bcoz she knows an offbeat will show she has no skills....

She is no1 for doing altufaltu films, those who have wrked for her are just bcoz the stories were way too good like 3I, JWM and omkara...she keeps giving the same expression no matter if its kabakht ishq or 3I...sh's just medicore actress-it's just that there's no good actresses in the industry so she is rated no.1...."head of the dogs" thats all

I'm just curious. The people that say that she has no skills, have you seen chameli? Its just a simple question, yes or no?

And jaanwar?? really?? how many ppl remember these movies or performances for tht matter??? Atleast ppl remember tabu's maqbool or urmila's eht or kajol's dushman even though they weren't "HITS"...and karishma's fiza for that matter too...because they were "memorable performances"....

im not talking abt performances which you found compelling!! im talking abt performances which the general audience and critics stood up and took notice to. Apart from Fiza, zubeidaa and DTPH...she didnt recieve much ACCLAIM from critics or the audience (awards, appreciation wise) for her performances....during her time, kajol, madhuri, tabu and urmila bagged most of awards, glory and appreciation.

and as for the star kid thing...well if u said tht like 6-7 years ago about "all hype no talent", i would have believed you...coz thts the time kareena was doing Yaadien, MPKDH and several more useless movies. But kareena has very well proven her stand as an actress after that...the films i mentioned previously are more than ample proof of her prowess.

No one is arguing about you preferring karishma to kareena as an actress. The argument is solely based on the fact that, you cannot discredit kareena in the process, or take away the fact that she is a great actress...therz ample proof to support the latter statement..

desu really..the forum surprises me....just a few days ago, a lot of ppl were raving abt kareena as dolly mishra, or kareena as chameli.....in some topic where we were discussing her films....

and now suddenly, shes this star kid who is not a good actress???😕

I like watching Kareena on screen. Even in crap films like Khushi, Kambaqt Ishq, she holds my attention. No other bollywood actress does this for me. Aishwarya, Priyanka only shine in good roles, if the script and film is bad, they tank too. Kareena has tremendous X factor, being a star daughter alone has not sustained her for this long.

Having said that, she has started to annoy me these days. This arrogance needs to go, remember what happened to Rani? Sticking to YRF was Rani's downfall, Kareena is doing the same by singing Khan bhajan all the time. She's not getting any younger, producers kab tak uske aage peeche bhagenge.. When Ra.1, Bodyguard and Short term shaadi are all gonna flop, she will be left with no choice but to accept these "off beat roles".

BTW this was such a dig at Priyanka. Everytime Priyanka comes up with a WYR, Fashion, SKM, Kareena says something like this. She's so transparent. 😆

urm...i dunt think she has much time in the industry dexter...if next year her films do well, she might stay for another year or 2...but if her films flop (which is most likely)...she'd probably close shop and marry saif.........i dunt see her sustaining any longer...shes hit her 30's and for an actress, thts tata-byebye time.....she probably will go the rani way...but after a string of flops, i think she'l just retire and become a homemaker. i dunt think she will come back and do as much of a work as shes doing now..

LOL at kareena being transperent...thts soo true...when shes being dumb, it shows.....when shes being arrogant, it shows and when shes tries too hard to be diplomatic, that also shows....😆

Kareena is an amazing actress and for those who she isn't all that...............🤣 come on man I love Kareena and Karishma but I now prefer Kareena as I have seen more of a variety from her and I like Karishma but Kareena is amazing....comparison between Karishma and Kareena is alright but seriously is it necessary to have it all the time lol😕
