Zubeen Garg's wife, Garima Saikia, recently shared details about his upcoming film Roi Roi Binale, set to release on October 31, 2025. She described Zubeen as "passionate" about the project, which is currently in post-production. Despite his untimely demise, Garima plans to honor the scheduled release date.
Following the emotional final rites of Zubeen Garg near Guwahati on Tuesday, Garima said, "We were working on a film, Roi Roi Binaale, which will be his last film. And he was very passionate about it. So he was planning to release it on October 31. So maybe now we have to start working on the film. And keep the date as he thought."
Expressing her regret
Garima also expressed her regret at not completing the "voice dubbing" for Zubeen Garg in the film, due to his sudden passing in Singapore, calling it a significant "void" in the project. "I regret that his voice dubbing did not happen because he had also acted in this film and in a very different role. He was very excited about it. He would have come as a blind artist. So it's a purely musical love story. I think people would love it, too. But we couldn't dub his voice. So that will be a void in the film. But other music and everything was done," added Garima.
A Fond Farewell to Zubeen Garg

Zubeen Garg, remembered by friends and family as "Goldie," was cremated with full state honors on Tuesday in Kamarkuchi village, Sonapur, near Guwahati. His sister, Palme Borthakur, performed the final rites, with Garima visibly emotional as she paid her respects. A gun salute honored Zubeen at the crematorium, where hundreds gathered to say a heartfelt goodbye.
Prior to the funeral, the late singer's remains were displayed at the Bhogesawar Baruah Sports Complex, allowing fans and well-wishers to offer their tributes. The 52-year-old icon of Assam passed away in Singapore in September following a reported drowning incident. His body was transported to Delhi and then to Assam via a commercial flight that arrived in Guwahati on Sunday morning. He was in Singapore for the Northeast India Festival.
