Anyway, a role can be both commercial and substantial. Her roles in New York and Namaste London are good examples. One doesn't have to play serious characters or work in pretentious artsy flicks to prove oneself.
but that's my point... does she really need to prove herself as a great actress to be in bollywood...!!
the answer, quite frankly, is no...!!
in the past too, there are many actresses and actors, who had a good career span without getting any award... and they were all good actors/actresses... so really, as long as remains in her own comfort zone, and does well with it, it's okay...!
Akshay is a decent actor, and he has done well in different genres... but he still sticks to comedies mostly... reason is because they work at the box office (majority of the times)... he did Tasveer 8x10 and he was actually quite good in that movie... still it did not do well... so i can imagine why he would not take too many chances like that with performance oriented movies...!!
i feel that it's the same case with Kat... she sticks to what she thinks will do well at the box office... and frankly, i don't see anything wrong with her strategy...
now, there are other actors and actresses, who think g r o w t h is also important, and they dabble with different roles... and that's also good for them, in the long run...
so really, everyone does what they think will be beneficial for their careers...!! 😃
p.s. thank you... for editing out that comment...!! 😃
