Not defending Akki or Big B here, but if the act of being photographed is such a bother, should'nt the family of Mr. Laxman have objected? Shouldn't some of the blame lie with the family for welcoming such cheap publicity?

The title is all wrong didn' t RM say Akki was laughing like a jackass??? He didn't call him a jackass. It makes a huge difference.I still feel RM shouldn't use that term on a public forum.
But what great did AB do by standing up for his fraternity this time around?????
Where was the great MR Amitabh Bachchan when the Shiv Sena was attacking Srk n his film MNIK???? Why didn't a man of his stature who is called a legend/Shehenshah react quickly??? As far as I know only Salman came out and gave a public statement & there were protests by Sena outside SK's house coz of this.
Where was Mr Amitabh Bachchan when the IIFA awards were taking place of which he is the Brand ambassador?? He ditched only coz Raavan was around for release and then his son comes up with reasons like they all were busy... Doesn't Mr Bachchan know his schedule beforehand??? If he was going to be busy during IIFA then why did he shoot an ad and also attended the PC/???
Didn't Amitabh Bachchan compare TRP's of his KBC season 1 and that of Srk's show Kya aap paanchvi pass se tez hain on his blog & was asking y TV shows with big names are failing to get trp's?? Was that even necessary?
If Mr Bachchan cared so much about filmi fraternity would he on a public forum blame the editor for Raavan???
Is all of that standing by your fraternity??? Puhleez!

Why does he have to stand up for everything?? He can pick and choose his own battles. As I said he is not the reigning superstar of this decade that is why a lot of people do not relate to him, and even youngsters have a hard time getting him.. but if he has chosen to voice his opinion this time.. then I am only happy! I personally think he is a fighter.. and has managed to step it up and stand amoungst a lot of people much more younger than him.. and survive cut throat competition and hold his own. I am sure back in his day.. he was the hero of many.. and even now many people do love him.. atleast for the terrific actor he is.

I think that Amitabh was probably getting bored on twitter and needed some activity to excite him, And this was easy so he dived right in. I bet he didn't expect the response he got, he probably expected RM to say, "mr. Bachchan you're so right, I'm the jackass".

AB was just pointing out how the media can misuse their power, I mean RM could have put his point forward without calling AK a jackass! If the media can question an actor, then why can't an actor question the media? And I don't think AB's life is so boring that he had 'dive in' as you said he's just giving the media a taste of their own medicine, they shouldn,t be able to just say anything and get away with it all the time!
Also no offence but why is it that certain people enjoy bringing down AB at any chance that they can get or like questioning his actions, the man has been a superstar for 40 years show him some respect! He's seen a lot more of the media than any of us ever had, during the peak of his career he even banned the media and still managed to remain the most popular star, back then he had no medium of voicing his opinion but now he does so why should he keep quiet if he feels he needs to express his opinion?
I bet if this was SRK he was supporting people would be showering praise on him, AB is genuinely close to Akshay and he can choose who he wants to support.

I for one don't care if Big b had any ulterior motive behind what he did! I always used to complain that he never stands up for imp stuff and he is grossly diplomatic, but here you go.. I loved the fact that he stood up for Akki. If journos fume at any colorful language used against them, then how come they are the ones who very easily use such langauge for actors?? Journos are becoming nothing less than opportunist cowards who only attack those people who they think they can get away... can you picture them using such a word for a top khan or a big time producer or director?? Just coz Akki's movies are soft targets for critics and they like to rip them apart and in the process also rip apart the actor, they think they can also get away with ripping apart the star/the person Akki. Its all a game of power, bachchans aren't the most influential figures these days so RM had the guts to give such a relentless and rude reply to big b.. if it was back in the day when Amitji was ruling the roost then this same journo would have been running around him like a fanboy. I honestly feel the fact that RM showed no remorse in calling Akki a jackass is a dangerous trend.... While some actors.. basically the top ones get preferrential treatment, its sad to see mass entertainers like Akki being name-called by these critics for whatever reason! I wish media could be a little less transparent in their bias towards certain celebs.

Agree with you 100% on this....
I am happy that Big B came out for the first time not for his son or DIL but for another actor.
People are saying that they love the reasoning given by RM to Big B but I reaqd Big B's letter to Barkha Dutt adn Rm and I think he was right on ....he questioned a very important point that "What if any actor wold have used this language for a journalist".....and "As a journalist you could have choosen a better word to describe the sitaution adn youtr point".
What people fails to understand is Big B has no problem on why he wrote a comment on the sitaution, that is your view , but what he meant was the language he used was bad...
I think this is a very loose comment on RM's behalf.....There is no remorse in him to call an actor that with out researching enough. How many celebrities go to hospital and smile at the patients....I have never ever seen anyone crying....
