I will never understand Ash's supposed bravery, just because she had personal problems with the khans she had to avoid working with them! I don't see any bravery in that.. she just went from one camp to another. And I will never understand why people will call Rani a suck up.. she and priety have worked with other people in their careers.. at the end Rani has moved to the yash raj movies.. same way how Ash is working mostly with her hubby in movies or with one or two other actors.

saying rani and priyanka owe their success to 'sucking up', is also an exaggeration... they also have quite a lot of memorable roles and they are both great actresses...

in order to glorify one person's actions, it is not necessary to fault the other person... rani will always be remembered as one of the best actresses hindi cinema ever had, and that is a fact... i don't know if she'll be able to make a comeback or not, but she has been a ruling queen for almost a decade and that does count for something... at least, give credit where it is due...!!

Its a matter of perspective isnt it; some people think sucking up is okay and there are other who dont like them- like myself. Which is one of the reasons I like Ash.

yes Ash had problems with the Khans but knowing how the industry works all she needed to do was to apologise publicly, which she decided not to do.

And I never said that Rani & Priyanka are successfull because of them sucking up, so dont read between the lines.

I said thats the reason im not very fond of them. each to their own.

I believe in dignity and doing things on your own without any favours.

Yes Ash is working with Abhi now, but how many movies? And its Ash who is actually doing a favours by acting with a lesser actor/star like Abhi not vice versa.

To be able to make it big in an industry where connections means everything, without actually any, without backing of the Khans is a big deal.

For me Ash will be remembered as everything else but an actress. Which is ok I guess a star is about glitz and glmaour and not just acting... which she excelled at..

Actually Kat too is pretty much the same isnt it- great star value, good looking, but very bad actress, but you still like her for some reason, dont you?

And the reason I like Ash inspite of her mediocre acting is because of this reason.

Anyways Im out now- dont see this thread being constructive for long. And no matter whats being said Im unlikely to change my opinion on Ash until she does something horrendous (such as running over people).

Certain people can remember her for whatever supposed negative thing that she did but no amount of arguing on this forum will change the fact that she will always be remembered as one of the great Bollywood stars we have had. She is and will alwys be counted along with the likes of Madhubala.

Sorry but Mahubala ji was a beauty with brain and she was a trendsetter and one of the best dancers and actresses of her time. So I don't buy that comparison, infact I think its an insult, given the amount of talent Madhu bala ji had. I will buy the Katrina kaif's comparison though .I agree Ash and Katrina can be compared they are pretty much alike in their acting ability and beauty. But, did I ever question Ash's star power.. no.. did I ever say why people like her no... I was just sayin what pragya actually summed up pretty well.. that she is a great star, but I wouldn't call her as one of the greatest actresses of our time.. not even close.

You dont have to buy anything I am not trying to sell anyone anything here. I am entitled to my opinion even if you think its insulting.

She did that and in that respect I admire her.
