The story of the movie is based on a two childhood friends Ajay Devgan and Salman Khan. Ajay has played a character of a trained Musician Arjun while Salman will be seen as Mannu.

Arjun has a dream to perform at London's Wembly Arena tro fulfil his grandpa's unsuccessful ambitions.

Movie Review: 'London Dreams'

Theme:
In the recent past, there is a trend in Bollywood to choose a movie name on the most famous name of the city, because audience have craze to know more deeply about the city.

'London Dreams' is based on city name just like; 'New York', 'Namastey London', 'Delhi - 6', 'Mumbai Meri Jaan' etc. 'London Dreams' is the biggest musical extravaganza of this year so far.

The movie is based on the movie theme, and it reveals the meaning of life. It is a philosophical movie towards life. After the most successful movie like 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam' it is the biggest movie of Ajay Devgan & Salman Khan.

The movie is a story of dreams of London. Ajay Devgan is in same role of 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam' and Salman Khan is also in the same character as before.

After all, it is a film which has a musical background to it, has composers Shankar – Ehsaan - Loy at the helm of affairs and brings them together with Prasoon Joshi from whom one expects poetic lyrics.

Add to that, the fact that each of the earlier films of Vipul Shah has boasted of immensely successful music and one can't help but expect London Dreams to present some chartbuster tracks as well.

In the whole : From Vipul Shah, the maker of supreme blockbusters as Namastey London and Waqt, London Dreams, lavishly mounted and embellished.

It is an intense and powerful drama about passion, ambition, envy and realization, with a distinct musical backdrop. With a stellar cast, it promises to be one of the most compelling motion picture experiences of 2009.

London Dreams has been the talk around the globe.

Rating Scale: 6.5/10

Review: Watch 'London Dreams' for Salman's best performance ever
If you thought 'Wanted' perfectly showed what Salman is really capable of, you got to watch this one. It seems that there could not have been a meatier way of getting superstars Salman Khan and Ajay Devgn together after their almost a decade-old blockbuster 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam'. Vipul Shah's latest venture, 'London Dreams', which released all over this Friday, can definitely be watched exclusively for Salman Khan and one of his best performances ever, if not for anything else.
This one is of course the story of two thick pals, and about how their lives take them from the lush fields of Punjab to the high stakes world of stardom. Arjun (Ajay Devgn) is an ambitious, trained musician whose dream is to perform at London's Wembley Arena. His best buddy Mannu (Salman Khan) is an inborn talented musician. But Mannu is not very serious about music. But Arjun insists Mannu to join a band, and that's how he becomes an overnight star. And now, the best of relations get strained.

The first half, honestly, does just enough to set things up for the explosive drama that is to follow post-interval. The drama gets going when Ajay plays a vicious game and hatches a conspiracy to ruin his friend's career.

What can really be appreciated about this one is the way Vipul has managed to give equal attention to both his leading men. And certainly not to be missed here is Salman Khan - Be it his light-hearted comedy in the first half or his troubled tryst with glory post interval, this is perhaps Salman's one of the best performances ever. 'London Dreams' sees a completely controlled Salman, who emotes as naturally as never before.

On the other hand, after successfully showing his funny side in his last hit 'All The Best', Ajay Devgn has once again carried off his character with utmost intensity. From love to jealousy to anger to insecurity, Ajay brilliantly conveys a wide range of emotions in 'London Dreams'. Asin Thottumkal is likable and she too does full justice to her role of a common love interest, though she doesn't seem to have much to do there!

On the whole, 'London Dreams' is amongst Vipul Shah's most accomplished works till date. Plus, what else can one ask for when it boasts of some incredible performances by two of the most talented superstars of Hindi cinema.

Rating: Four cheers

London Dreams
Starring:
Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn, Asin

Rating
:

Imagine Rock On!! in Punjabi with stereophonic emotional drama? Can't? Well that's London Dreams, where two best friends fall apart over a girl and their music. Now where have we seen this before? Yes, yes, everywhere. But Vipul Shah's forte has never been originality. It has been energy and joie de vivre, which the film has in plenty. Almost enough to save it. Almost. SEE PHOTOS

Shot in London in parts not usually seen in Hindi movies-the Royal Albert Hall and Heathfield, Queen Elizabeth I's home, Heathfield-London Dreams has its moments. My favourites involve Salman Khan, who is awake, alive and thoroughly entertaining in the film. So there he is one moment, dressed in prizefighter gown and boxers, entering a very formal reception for the band and addressing Asin as "jaan". Another, where he flirts outrageously with an attendant on a flight, asking where he can do "su-su" and yet another where he sings to Asin with the Eiffel Tower all lit up. This is vintage Salman, naughty, nattering and never grown up. He's the ageing frat boy who can still deliver.

First look at London Dreams
The making of London Dreams

As can Ajay Devgn, the dark, smouldering Salieri-like Arjun, who is obsessed with his goal of singing at Wembley, and sees the dream slipping away with Salman's far more talented Mannu becoming the big star of the band. The relationship works well, with the usual homoerotic tones of all Bollywood dostanas. Grown men hug, slap each other on the back, and wipe each other's tears. They also give up the girl for the other guy at a moment's notice.

Shah by now is a Punjab native so he gets all the desi stuff right. Bhatinda as it is supposed to be is suitably bucolic, with the men interested only in beer, women and running around in sarson da khet wearing appropriately coloured kurtas. Equally he is familiar with London. And the music concerts are fantastically shot, mostly from an overhead angle, with frenzied crowds more suited to a Beatles concert. But, but...the film races headlong towards its inevitable climax, without a pause for the slow rise to fame for London Dreams, its heady success and the destruction that Ajay tries to wreak on Salman, as he sees him moving towards a goal he has always wanted. The drama is telescoped into the second half and doesn't allow the viewer even a pause.

Ajay's character is dark, so dark that he takes to belting himself to sublimate his desire for an always bubbly Asin lovingly called Chennai Express here by Salman-wonder why he doesn't take a cold shower instead. But clearly Shah is not one to let a melodramatic moment go waste. He has lots of them, especially one particularly banal one when the whole of Wembley is supposedly throwing its bottles at Devgn as he denounces the crowd for loving Salman more than him. From getting Salman to sing the Hanuman Chalisa in one breath and getting Ajay to do an impromptu concert in Trafalgar Square with two Pakistani brothers, played by Rannvjiay and Aditya Roy Kapur, Shah has the energy of the film on tap. If only he had got the story half as right.

REVIEW: Why London Dreams is a much watch in theater
The highly anticipated musical London Dreams finally hit screens today. Directed by Vipul Shah of Namestey London fame, this rock band saga stars Salman Khan, Ajay Devgan and Asin Thottumkal in the lead. Salman and Ajay come together nearly a decade after Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam.

London Dreams draws inspiration from the legendary Mozart-Salieri rivalry and revolves around the theme of friendship, trust, passion, jealousy and sacrifice against the backdrop of music.

London Dreams revolves around two childhood friends - Arjun (Ajay Devgan) and Mannu (Salman Khan), who over the years become thick friends. Arjun is extremely passionate about music and his dream is to make it big and sing at the London's Wembley Stadium with thousands of fans cheering for him. On the other hand, Mannu is lighthearted and capricious and does not realize his innate musical talent. Despite all the hurdles, Arjun's dream slowly takes shape and he manages to form a band called London Dreams. Just when his fame starts spreading wider and across the borders, things take a new twist and Mannu begins to steal the show. Slowly jealousy creeps into Arjun's path to victory and his strong faithful friendship takes an ugly shape. Who wins the musical battle to fame and success? Who does London Dreams belong too? This forms the rest of the story

Why London Dreams is a much watch in theater

1. London Dreams is one of Vipul Shah's best works. From the gigantic concerts to romance to the conspiracy, everything has extremely well executed. The script ideally should have been crisper, especially the climax.
2. With well-etched characters, Vipul has also managed to extract brilliant performances from both actors. Think 'Wanted' was Salman's best? wait till you watch this. He emotes like never before, effortlessly delivering one of his best performances to date. You easily relate and feel deeply for his character. This performance could well win him some awards this year.😊
3. No other actor in Bollywood can be as intense as Ajay Devgan and he fits into Arjun's skin with dexterity and precision. Although Ajay's role takes a gray shade, his competency is unmatched and takes grounds equal as Salman Khan in making a place for himself in the minds of the audience. While he doesn't really look like a rockstar, its his acting histrionics that does the trick.. although he should have worked harder on his dancing skills.
4. Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan share amazing chemistry. Be it their confrontation at Ajay's home or at the stadium or their happy times of friendship, their off screen comfort-level is clearly visible on screen.
5. Salman Khan's first flight to London is absolutely hilarious. His dialogues are funny and so are his expressions. Must watch!
6. Asin looked very pretty and danced well, but in a movie dominated by Salman and Ajay Devgan, she doesn't really get enough scope to exhibit her acting talent. Chennai Express is a cute name!
7. Music by Shankar Ehsaan Loy is in fine tune with the tone of the movie and fits perfectly into the film. The gigantic concerts are shot amazingly well.

Overall, London Dreams is one of the best films of the year. The stretched climax is a bit of a disappointment but the fantastic performances by both Ajay and Salman more than makes up for it.
