Maybe coz her fans werent with her when their relationship was on the rocks. They were pretty discrete about hiding their break up. No one had a clue, that's why it hit everyone like it did.
Here my logic yaar. Kareena was absolutely MAD about shahid. For 3 and a half years, she wouldnt look at anyone. And its during those three and ahalf years that she even worked with saif, in Omkara.
And she clearly said in one interview when asked didnt she feel any attraction towards saif during omkara. She said, "I was with shahid then".
Like so straight forward, such a simple asnwer. It means taht she wasnt with him when she fell for saif in tashan. Dude, no intelligent girl would let go of a single, cute, promising guy for a married man of two kids. Like lets be realistic. She knew Shahid was making it big. She didnt break up with him when he was at his low. Infact, kareena stuck by him when his career was at the lows. He had already ahd Vivaah, he was already being touted as the next big thing. He was single, didnt come iwth a baggage, etc etc. Would she really be stupid enough to fall for a divorcied man with two kids over a single guy sh'es been with for....3 years?
Its so obvious that saif was her rebound. The guy who was there for her when she was falling apart. There were so many accounts of him taking her out to lunches and dinners. Ahd already said he was a really great friend. And perhaps when he told her how he felt, she couldnt say no. Ofcourse, she must have been attracted to him too. But its a huge step she took giving the relatoinship a chance. And mashallah, its working out beautifully so far.
