I would also like to assume that becaz I think she is a nice person. Thoda rona dhona karti hai but she is actually good at heart.
I think she would never do like narrow-minded people here say 'we can't perform other religion's rituals'.

So, from here on, I would believe that she didn't do it bcaz of her p... I hope I am true.

Well thank God I don't live in India...that's all I can say.

Gauhar ne kaha tha pooja shuru hone se pehle abt dandiya dance she wntd 2 play or sumthin lyk dat...she equally njys dat... Itz jst that we r nt supposed 2 stand nd pray b4 othr gods... datz it!
Watevr her rsn was itz totally her own choice!

EID and Namaz is not as open as a Pooja would be. We all know ( non-Muslims ) how namaaz is read, but don't really know what to say. We congratulate eid mubarak to our Muslim friends and eat the delicious food, that's the end of that

What does it take in a pooja? stand praying, bow your head and listen to the pandit - thats all, it simpler and although you will see Muslims celebrating holi, diwali etc but it's not traditional in India to do the other way around - it has never been like that so you can't expect hindu participants to read namaaz coz Muslims won't like that

India is still way tolerant and welcoming than Pakistan or Middle Eastern Countries

Although not in a religious tone, USA is as racist as anyone when it comes to black community

No its not important to participate in fear that some idiot would call her a paki. That's not even a valid reason to force a person to partake in something in which she couldn't. She has her beliefs and she has every right to stand by her beliefs. Just to silence the religious freaks she shouldn't do something which she doesn't want to do.She could have sat in the sofa wearing her normal clothes.Instead to show respect she wore the traditional outfit and stood near them not amidst them, but still she was standing.

That's more than enough,''ESPECIALLY'' when its on national TV.Agreed that as Hindus we are the majority in India, but that gives us no rights to dictate people from minority religions to change their ways for us. In India we have all kinds of people, religious freaks who discriminate people from minority religions but at the same time there are enough educated people out there in India who believe in free will.
So no need for gauhar to change her ways just to please religious freaks. She is an Indian citizen and will always remain so whether she prays in puja or not.Anybody who would think of calling her a paki for such a reason is not fit to be called an Indian.

Isn't that hypocrisy and disrespect to God??? To have to stand praying without meaning it,bowing head without wanting to,listening to the hymns out of fear instead of devotion. She prays in her own way.And we Hindus do it on our own way.Whatever way it is,prayer out of compulsion instead of devotion is meaningless. And most of the educated civilized people of India don't take offence when people from other religions don't pray in their way.

Thank you! 👏 How is one classified to be Pakistani simply because they're not partaking in certain rituals!? 😕 Beats me. 😆 Gauhar needs not even provide justifications for her actions, she's free to do what she pleases. She has not wronged any one neither has she performed an illicit activity. I cannot believe people EXPECT her to satisfy THEIR needs. Why should she? She's an individual, not a puppet.

Staying away while rest of the house is celebrating - that too on a big event like Dushera will certainly be a stand on freedom of speech. Its not only bad for her image, but also disrespectful

Yeah, exactly - thats exactly how people do it. It's like getting over with it - tell me how many would know what to say in a prayer? in modern life, how many parents would teach their kids that?
Its a formality, pray - touch the photo, put a tika, pay 101 or whatever and be done with
