I am sorry but this topic is very irrelevant. it has nothing to do with mind set. Muslims believe there is only one God and Muslims only worship that one God. Of course Muslim's are taught to respect all religions but that doesn't mean they have to take part in other religious rituals if they don't feel comfortable.
If a Muslim person doesn't want to take part in another religion's ritual due to their religion then it should be accepted and respected. The same way when the Azaan is being heard in the Bigg Boss house, I haven't seen people of other religions answering to it, which is fine, because it's not part of their religion.
Please don't make this into an issue of Muslims do this and other religions do that because it is very insulting.

Religion , is a personal relationship with God. You have no right to questions , judge any decision made by someone.. if someone wants to practice in Durga Pooja they will , if they don't that is their choice. even if that choice is based from religious Point of View or personal reasons. religion and religious rituals GO Hand IN Hand .. if someone doesn't take part in a RELIGIOUS event due to their religious belief then well their POV . and saying no need to bring religion into it .is very childish because religious rituals and religious practices are all based on a person's religion which will mold their actions.

and gauhar clothes are NO Concern of yours. Gauhar doing item numbers is not your concern either. she is not questionable to you . You can't question others decisions in life .. nor can others question your decision in life.. learn to respect.

lastly - respect is being able to stand in other peoples religious event yet respecting your own religious belief. that my friend is true tolerance , respect and being so called "Liberal" . that Gauhar did that .. She respected others religion and respected her own religion at the same time.

Yes its her PERSONAL BELIEF not Islams...so no need to bring the entire sect into it...
I am not going to analyse or dissect Gauhars actions but if you say she is doing this because of religion then its a clear no..because she has done enough things which is not allowed in her religion...
So its HER THING not the SECTS..thats what I wanted to say..nothing else matters your BELIEF DOES! VAS

Pardon me, I donno much about Hindu religion but does this religion prohibit you from performing other religion's rituals?
I believe in personal beliefs too. If a person is not willing to follow Islam's instruction that's their wish. Islam won't force them to do it. But that does NOT mean Islam allows them to do it.
There are many people who believe in Quran and follow it religiously regardless of the fact that it was written 500-600 yrs ago.
So when anyone is calling it illogical, it's hurting their emotions.
So I would request members not to use this kinda words! 😊

No...in Hinduism there's no prohibition like that...and yeah Hindus can perform Namaz and read Bible also if they feel like
Hinduism in its true form is not really a religion...it's real name is Sanatan Dharma...it was a culture...where people practiced non-violence and respected every form of life from lowest to highest...and tried to solve the mystery of God...for that they did yoga and meditation cuz our ancient yogis say through it you can gain direct experience of God and realize the truth
It even allows atheism...cuz Sanatan Dharma doesnt encourage blind faith...it encourages direct experience
And everyone is free to carve their own way to God
And we also believe there's one God only, who we call Parabrahma...which Muslims call Allah and Jesus referred to him as father
Later it got corrupt and people started practicing casteism ...which is against Sanatan Dharma cause it says to treat everyone equally

No offense but you guys are literally like literally making a mole out of a mounthill. This topic is highly sensitive I think there shouldn't be topics like this to start off with. We live in a world where there are billions and billions of people with trillions of their personal believes. What one thinks is appropriate might not be how others see it. Religion honestly has no boundaries like their are Hindu's who are totally devoted to their religions and their are hindu's who aren't that devoted to their religion similarly their are Muslims, Christians and people of all religions who completely believe in their religion and their are people who slightly believe in their religion but they ALL RESPECT THEIR RELIGION very very much. They might not follow all rituals but they do not disrespect their religion NOBODY does and commenting on a person's beli or his or her belief in other religion is not at all justified and its highly inappropriate. Gauhar did participate in Durga puja she was present when the pooja took place and she was there until it got finished she may not have participated in the dance or in the aarti but she did participate in the pooja and she on the top of it did not DISRESPECT the Hindu culture as for her being their and attending the pooja might be the sign of respect to the Hindu culture and for asif and Ellie participating in the pooja might be THEIR WAY of giving respect to the Hindu culture. You should not compare them at all as different people have different believes and that does not make them any different from others. Also by wearing short clothes and doing item numbers in movies does not give you the right to raise a finger on gauhar's believes and culture as I think god does not care what a person do and what he or she wears or how the person's nature is as far as he or she from his heart respects god and does not harm others by his or her activities god has NO problems its about feeling people it's ALL ABOUT THE FEELINGS if you know you are true and if you truly believe in god than whatever you wear or do for earning doesn't matter that much.

My context was about non-Arab countries where women don't feel the need to wear burkha owing it to the the modern world. It couldn't be called being disrespectful to ones religion.
However, we need to respect each others religion, so yes, with minimum logic and not being destructive to other religions world could co-exist.
No problem with muslims not attending prayers of other religion but restricting it for others too who wish to attend is plain disappointing and I was a bit taken aback by the comments of some members in the previous thread regarding this

You know what, this incident might just compel me to vouch for Gauhar if anything. This incident shows she is more real than others in the house. She is not worried that many Hindus got offended and won't vote for her.

Even as a Hindu I can respect her for the honesty. I like people who stand for something as opposed to those who stand for nothing. Asif may be doing it for 2 reasons : a) to lick armaan as usual b) because he is a bengali and its a cultural thing.

Although religion is a very delicate topic but still i would like to state that few of my friends are.muslims and they havr told me that there religion does not allow to participate in any sort of pooja of other religion!!
And if gauhar is complying with it then i think she is not doing anything wrong!! She is just being true to her beliefs which i think we all should respect about her!!

Last thing I would like to say in this thread that every religion is a BELIEF not a logic.
So we shouldn't judge it by logic!

first of all i would like to say that i respect all religions and this is just my pov

if i am not mistaken, a few years ago, a fatwa was released against salman khan as he had taken part in a prayer with his mom as his mom is hindu.
im not sure, but i think that islam does not allow for muslims to pray to idols. (pls correct me if im wrong)
so, in order to avoid the controversy that would have taken place had she participated in the puja, she decided to stay away. i honestly dont see anything wrong in that, as she is not offending anyone. had she said something bad abt the puja then that would not have been right. taking part or not is her personal decision and we should not question that imo.

pls let me noe what u guys think! this discussion can definitely take place without hurting the sentiments of any religion! :)

Agree.Muslims are not allowed to prayer in front of any kind of idols,pictures,statues... but we do respect other religions and it is not prohibited.

Islam is not strict.People making it complex that's it.
