One of the many falsehoods that we are taught as kids for generations and keep on carrying always. Now in the era of social media and technology we are reading and understanding that majority stuff that we read as child in 90s and before were false. 😆
P. S. My personal opinion is that pure Hindi (and not the hindi infected by urdu) should be India's national language. We need a common language. But that's not happening. 🤪
Indians have this subconscious differentiation between people from different parts of the country.sometimes its clearly evident. For eg Undercurrent tensions between North and south India., between North East and rest of India etc.
Although Indians have common indian nationality, we also have deep rooted regional identities. And people are very protective of the same.Culture In kerala is so different from that of UP,, or culture of Gujarat is different from that of Assam.Languages acts as a major force in establishing, and continuing these traditions and cultures.
. By forcing people to accept one language as national language is going to backfire.Majority will see that as a threat to their regional identities and culture. . For eg if you are going to force hindi definitely south Indians , and other regional people will feel that hindi speaking people are trying to dominate them. This can only lead to unwanted chaos.
India is a diverse land , and its diversity has been preserved through generations. Even with the diversity we are still standing united and strong.Trying to give prominence to one language and culture will disrupt the balance.
One questions ,if govt decided to promote pure tamil (oldest language of india , which originated in India, )as our national language how many will agree?
