It can take months and years for rape and harassment victims to come forward and we should never discourage that.

I am not a Teja fan but she was right in her stand. Salman portrays himself to be the saint that he is we all know what kind of a person he really is. I wasn't surprised to hear the justification that a victim is responsible for allowing the abuser to continue with his actions.

Typical misogynist mentality.

I don’t even know that this is misogynistic on SK’s part or he genuinely sees nothing wrong in sexual harassment or the channel doesn’t want it to be called that because it’s bad for the show. Because he used the exact same logic in a previous season when the issue occurred between Abhinav and Rakhi, saying that Abhinav was fine with it so long as it benefited him, etc. Personally I think this is his own mentality which is showing.

Yeah, Devoleena didn’t react badly at first and kept interacting with Bichukle. But no one would think that a known, public figure would behave this way on nation TV. So at first she took it as a joke, he escalated and continued and she expressed discomfort about it. Shamita, Rashmi, Karan, etc. were basically gaslighting her by invalidating her feelings/insinuating that she had no right to feel bad because she was friendly with him. But Teja was 100% correct in that Devoleena had the right to her feelings at any time, regardless of what happened before.

Also, Bichukle was wrong in the way he responded. The only correct response when someone says they felt uncomfortable (especially in this way) is “I’m sorry I crossed a boundary, it will not happen again.” And then you don’t do it again. You do not justify your actions, you do not gaslight the other person, you do not act angry and righteous.

The way the show dealt with this was shameful. It really sent out a wrong message. I had to turn the episode off after that segment because I felt like I needed a shower. I hate Devo but my heart went out to her. I was also proud Teja didn't give a sh*t when everyone was disagreeing with her including SK. She stood her ground.

There are some big changes that we can talk about properly which is cool to see. There are some changes to the way we deal with this and I hope that it continues to work out that way. It is cool to think about this and I hope that people are aware we discuss this.
