Chapter 26

Jagmal was in pain a lot of it to be exact which everyone present in the palace was aware of so when Uday Singh returned after his trip to the borders area he knew the situation in his palace. DheerBai was as usual busy in her own world thinking of new ways to ruin Pratap and Ajabde when she had received the news of Ranaji's arrival so she decked herself up and went to greet him in the court room where he was discussing matters with Rawatji. DheerBai appeared before both of them and politely greeted them asking about their trip when US signalled Rawatji to bring in the news

Rawatji: Everything went fine in our trip but unfortunately that cannot be said for Bundi

DB: Did something happen in Bundi?

US: We were under the impression that you along with Kunwar Jagmal were going to attend the grand puja there Dheer Baiji

DB: We were supposed to but Kunwar Jagmal got injured in a hunting expedition so our trip got cancelled and it seems like it was a good thing

Rawatji: That is true after all Surtan Singh is dead

DB is shocked to hear the news of her so called lover's death and gets another shock when Rawatji continues with the news

Rawatji: Sakha Veer made his presence known on the last day of the puja where he challenged Surtan Singh who lost in front of the people but that is not it Bundi is now being looked after by the rebels who will decide a new leader for themselves

DB: What will the council do now Ranaji?

US: We will be looking at Sakha Veer more closely from the looks of it. You were saying there is something else as well Rawatji

Rawatji: News has come that Rajkumari Ajabde's wedding has been fixed

US: That is really good news. We should send some gifts from our side after all Rao Mamrakh is our dear friend. Kindly make arrangement for the gifts

DB was lost in a trance first SS death and now this that commoner girl was getting married but to whom? Before she could ask her useless son decided to grace them with his presence

JM: Ranaji, Rawatji greetings

They acknowledge his greetings US controls his anger at JM as he knew about the deeds he committed in Bundi but Rawatji decides to have some fun

Rawatji: welcome Kunwar Jagmal I hope you are recovering well from your injuries

JM goes red as he remembers how the girl defeated him: I'm fine thank you

US hides his smiles: Rawatji was informing us about the latest developments Kunwar Jagmal - Surtan Singh is dead- Sakha Veer ended him on the last day of the puja and Rajkumari Ajabde's wedding has been fixed. We were just talking about the presents we need to send to Bijolia

JM stares at the two men in shock: Ajabde's wedding was fixed but with whom? He knew whom but he needed to confirm so

Rawatji: Ranaji we need to go as council members are waiting for us.

US: Yes we should leave. Dheer Baiji make the arrangement for the presents and they should be the best as my friend's daughter is getting marries and in his thoughts- my son is getting married

Both the men leave mother-son duo together

JM: I'm leaving for Bijolia this instance

DB: You will do no such thing. We need to re-plan everything

JM: She is getting married!!! I will not let that happen

A servant comes in with a nicely done royal letter and takes it to US in the court. As he walks back out after sometime DB calls him over

DB: what was the message about?

Servant: The message was an invitation to the royal wedding of Rajkumari Ajabde

JM: To whom?

Servant: Kunwar Pratap
