Looking back at the episodes of Monday and Tuesday - 13th and 14th April, 2015, Akbar is still keeping a safe distance from Chittor fort. Jaimal is still in captivity and MP camping outside, waiting for an opportunity to enter the fort and rescue the beleaguered king.

As of now, Udai Singh and Akbar are playing a cat and mouse game of wait and watch to see who loses the battle of nerves first.

I liked this "cat and mouse game" of Akbar and Chittor.
It's a game of nerves, and i am IN for this kind of presentation.👍🏼
MP makers are showing it in the manner expected.
None of the parties was ready to give up the quest in the Chittor battle.
And, i am hoping to see the same here.

Akbar's Moves

Akbar sends a lone soldier towards the fort to test the preparedness of the fort inmates and is assured that he was right in proceeding slowly because the Rajputs proved they could kill anyone within a certain distance using just arrows. Akbar now wants to think of a new strategy to counter the advantage of height and impregnability of the fort.

Radhika,
REAL Akbar laid a siege and he inspected the Fort thoroughly and then he placed his BEST batteries to storm the Fort of Chittor. Initially, he was disappointed. But, slowly he proceeded, and Chittor's supply reduced.

But before that, he wants to know what's going on in Udai Singh's mind. He sends a Mughal warrior to capture the messenger who, unknown to Akbar, is carrying an urgent summons to MP to return asap to the fort.

If Akbar can successfully prevent this message from reaching MP, then he can be sure of 2 things:

1. MP is not in the palace; so the Mughals don't have to fight him.
2. If MP is kept unaware that his father needs him, he will not return anytime soon.

Later while MP is returning home, Akbar may engage him in a battle somewhere away from Chittor.

I think, MP will get the message, but the messenger will loose his life here.
Also, MP will be able to reach the palace, i think, but the sabha of generals will prevent MP, US and some other people to take part in Chittor. We know MP was in Kumbhalgarh. There also the fight continued. Going to post part-3 of Chittor series soon.

Udai Singh's Nerves

Udai Singh is outwardly holding the fort with authority but his eager wait for MP seems to indicate a case of nerves. Wish he is confident enough to take on the might of Akbar.

Repeating myself but really want to know if and when Udai Singh will leave the fort along with his family in the show. It seems late to me already with Akbar at his doorstep. How can Udai Singh leave and why would Akbar let him?

Radhika,
Few people can always leave from the secret passages in forts.
Entire population can not leave but select royalty can leave through such secret passages, because few people are tough to trace.
A battle is LOST instantly if the leader dies, so US HAD TO BE protected.
We saw, Hemu's army lost the second battle of Panipat which he had almost won, when an arrow hit his eye. So saving a leader is important.

Hetu is Safe

I missed the initial 7-8 mins of the show and don't know how Hetu was finally brought back to safety from the clutches of Mughal soldiers, But i was happy to see her safe and sound.
It upset me greatly to see her being mobbed by Mughal guards who clearly had less than noble intentions and the Rajputs holding back from rescuing her because they didn't want to expose themselves and foil their plan to rescue Jaimal.

This seemed most uncharacteristic of MP - that he should be willing to sacrifice the honor of a Rajput girl at the hands of Mughals so that he could calmly work out a plan to rescue Jaimal. And it seemed insulting to a warrior like Jaimal too that he would be happy to be freed at the cost of the life and honor of a young Rajput girl.

After all, the very notion of jauhar is based on the principle that the honor of women cannot be compromised and no Mughal can be allowed to touch the body of a Rajput woman, even if she was dead.

I guess the entire sequence on Monday was intended to raise intense emotions in viewers and make them come back to see what happened the next day. But it was in extremely poor taste.

Agree about this. MP was all about values. He would have never agreed to such a prospect. A man who respected even the women folk of his enemy. He even returned the women of Rahim's harem when Amar Singh captured them, and admonished Amar Singh. That time , Akbar had placed Rahim as the incharge to capture MP. One can very well understand, MP could have easily made Rahim/Mughals accept his demands of any kind, using the ladies as a barter. But, what he did was returning them with honor, despite the fact, Mughal armies were hunting him from one place to another and in one forest after another. Rahim, later refused to fight against MP, and Akbar had to replace him.

That scene of Khetu, was not required to be shown. Perhaps, this time makers had another thought in their brains, and they wanted to project that release of Jaimal was their sole objective this time, and Khetu being a loyal one to her land, did not hesitate in giving her complete contribution..

Jaimal Shows His Prowess

In a power-packed sequence, Jaimal showed he could still pack a punch by strangling a Mughal soldier to death, whilst Pir Muhammad looked on in stunned silence. This Jaimal clearly looks like one who can be described as having the prowess of a 1000 warriors.

I had similar thoughts and you replicated them here. Jaimal was literally shown as having a prowess of a 1000 warriors. You know Radhika, had any Rajput record praised Jaimal, Patta and Isar Das Chauhan, one could have thought it is "hero worship" , and praising someone from its own clan...

But, a praise like this, where these people are considered "equal to a 1000 warriors in prowess", singly, that too coming from the Mughal records, surely speaks that even in the heart of their enemies, they left a deep imprint.

Jaimal in yesterday's episode was similar. And the actor playing the character has a bit of diction, a local Marwari Rathore has. :))

Going Ahead

MP will probably attempt to use the path laid by Hetu to enter the fort and rescue Jaimal in tonight's episode.
Sure.

Did Hetu just guess the places where there were no landmines or did she have special knowledge to detect them? She looked like sh was playing Minesweeper.

Don't know, it was more or less looking a game of trial and error. :-P

Why will Jaimal and Patta reach Chittor but not MP? Will he feel that other places like Kumbhalgarh require him while Chittor can be handled by the people already there.

I think MP will reach Chittor. But, the sabha of generals will decide in favor of sending him to Kumbhalgarh, because Chittor was guarded by great warriors, but Kumbhalgarh had no such big name apart from MP...

BTW, a son of Jaimal was present here fighting along with MP in Kumbhalgarh Fort. I mentioned his name in update.

Will Akbar be shown to wait patiently for the right opportunity to attack Chittor and build sabats etc in the meantime?

Last scene of last episode, make me believe that this siege is going to last for more than a month for sure. They will show each and every moment. I replied to Geeta that the makers are not showing any side as a fool, and that balance is very much required to appreciate the track. In yesterday's episode, Akbar was shown so cunning and strategically sound.

The show is gripping in its presentation these days, though full of NR. 😊
I am not going to miss the episodes now. :D More so because, when ever i hear any new name, i am tempted to search his/her history. :-P

Replied in Blue above. Thanks for the inputs.
BTW, You can catch last episode, if you missed initial minutes, i posted the video on previous page. :)

Abhay

Thanks for the detailed response to my views on Monday/Tuesday episodes. 😊

It is true that Akbar must have spent a month in just preparing for the battle, while camped near Chittor fort. I was actually wondering if the makers will show that Akbar spent so much time preparing for the battle.

Seems like they will. :) So far, they have shown that Akbar is weighing everything and trying to get his hands on as much info as he can about the fort, its defences, the people inside the fort and even what messages are being exchanged between the fort and outside. His generals are getting impatient, but he is in no mood to attack in haste and repent at leisure. He knows the Mewaris have the advantage of height and he is carefully planning his next moves.

This kind of presentation is so rare on TV, isn't it, Abhay? Otherwise, like we saw in the other show, a war means shouting yalgaar and men fighting with arrows and swords and it's all over in 1 episode. :(

No electricity. Will continue later :)

I guess you are right. MP will return to Chittor with Jaimal. And then the war council will advise US and family to retire to the hills and MP to take up protection of Kumbalgarh. For them, Chittor must have looked impregnable and impossible to conquer. And the other places would be equally important to them. And, of course, the safety of the leader would be paramount.

I forgot about secret tunnels. :)

Where is Patta?

I find the scenes of Jagmaal most irritating. He seems to be forever grumbling in front of Ajabde, Choti Ma, and DB.

When did DB change so much and start praising MP over Jagmaal? If she continues in this vein, how will she later propose Jagmaal's name for the throne? 😆

The makers seem to have kept out unnecessary characters. Otherwise, by now, MP should have had other wives too. :) And he had over 2 dozen siblings, though thankfully we see only a few. Jagmaal seems to have not married at all.

Has Shakti Singh been introduced in the show? I think it was Rawatji and Amar Singh who informed US about Akbar's advancing army.

I also hope to see all the episodes at least till the Chittor track ends. :)

Thanks btw for sharing the links to previous episodes. :) When is the 3rd part of Chittor siege going to be published? Looking fwd to reading it.:)

I too wish they will show this track in detail. They seem to be on track showing Akbar's prep. I am fine if the track takes long but would like to see all details as per history. This siege also shows Akbar's brilliance and later violence also :(

Geeta,
In my opinion, they have still not shown the meeting which Udai Singh conducted with his generals. That meeting is still to come. So, we should wait for that. :)

@Bold...
There are more sequences, going to come in this battle, which will make you shed tears.
Be prepared. BTW, Have you visited Chittor Fort ?

Like you, i too feel, the actors playing Jaimal Rathore, Isar Das Chauhan, Kala Rathore, Patta Sisodia, etc. are going to be superb in the upcoming siege.

Even the actor playing Akbar is shown so calm and calculated. The makers are not showing any side as a fool, and that balance is very much required to appreciate the track. In yesterday's episode, Akbar was shown so cunning and strategically sound.

[/QUOTE ] Abhay, u said MP was there in Kumbhalgarh at the time of siege. How far is Kumbhalgarh frm Chittor? Was Kumbhalgarh also in siege?.Abhay, in earlier episode, which u might hv missed, Sant Tulsidas has been shown to foresee this event of siege.n the massacre. At that time they had shown MP entering the Chittore fort, n stunned to see the corpses strwen . He was shown lamenting amidst the bed of corpses 😭 .Abhay, I hv seen innumerable wars fought in this serial with authenticity. And I am sure this is the mother of all battles !. They will carry this on at least fr three weeks.👍🏼
Abhay, I had been to Rajasthan thrice, but never been to Chittorgarh, as they said there was nothing there to be seen except the fort, so we didn't go. Abhi pachtake kya fayda?:(

The episodes in MP have been thrilling this past week. I esp liked Thursday's episode. 👏
There is an attempt to show that even "ordinary" people were extremely brave and daring in their commitment to Mewar. Two examples: Rana Singh, the messenger and Hetu.

The ordinary citizens also assure Udai Singh that would fight with all their might and resist the Mughals' advance. They agree instantly to light all lamps on the fort ramparts, cook and eat in the open and generally project a festive spirit to reinforce the message that they are NOT afraid of Akbar's army.

It is good to see the participation of the people too and heroic deeds from ordinary folk and not just the expected valour of the protagonist. 😊

Radhika,

Watching the episodes of MP NOW is a treat, and i must say, it was awesome .
Akbar is shown as a determined strategist, who is ready to wait for any amount of time to win Chittor. He has come with a thinking and will divulge his plan at the right time.

I must thank the makers for at least showing a STRONG STRATEGIST in Akbar. As i said earlier, we can enjoy this siege track only when BOTH the sides are shown at their best. No one's stand should be compromised.

I agree, this kind of presentation is rare, especially for folks like us, who only hear yalgaar and few swords in the name of war. :-P This was a welcome change. 👏

Radhika,
I will try to post the 3rd part of Chittor series on the weekend. :)

Patta is absent as of now.
The new "avatar" of DB was shocking, but i ignored her.
She is like our Ruqs. :-P
Right now, i am focusing only on politics and subsequent action in offing. :D

Shakti Singh is also missing.
We won't see him probably.
